Yes, it's harmful.
You can put salt on your food to bring out the flavor, but if you can specifically taste the salt after it's too much.
I just found out a few days ago, and I guess it messes with your babies nervous system. :/
So, that's no appropriate.
It's desperate to eat alot of salt if you're not pregnant.. salt isn't great for anyone...

But it doesn't nouns like you're overeating salt.. my best friend puts salt on EVERYTHING.. I penny-pinching, loads it up, can't eat one thing without brackish.. she even asks for salt at fast foodp laces which is strange to me b/c why bother near a 99 cent hamburger lol.. but anyways, she had a healthy baby :)
yes because you hold abundantly of water while pregnant and you will be more swollen and uncomfortable =] so try to stay away from extra salt..
salt in moderation is okay. But too much isn't good for you or newborn, that's with all foods and beverages though.

Mushrooms are fine to eat.

Answers:    Actually pregnant women need more sodium. It is a common misconception that brackish is not healthy.

Many women are casually advised by friends or home to restrict their salt intake to prevent 'swelling' of feet and ankles. This is not a current medical recommendation. While it is prudent to avoid 'excess' saline use, sodium restriction should not be casually undertaken. Edema (accumulation of fluid..swelling) in the foot and legs often occurs during pregnancy. This is a result of increased estrogen production and greater blood volume. Not salt! Estrogen increases a mother's qualifications to absorb water into connective tissue, thus fluid retention is naturally sophisticated. At the same time, progesterone increases the sodium content of urine, so more sodium than usual is lost by women during pregnancy. Therefore, despite the presence of edema, sodium needs still increase for pregnant women.

Although the increase in sodium requirement is not dramatic, it is celebrated. Restricting sodium during pregnancy can cause problems for mother and her fetus, by disrupting this delicate fluid balance. Edema that occur during pregnancy is not considered harmful, unless high blood pressure or protein loss in urine is also occurring. If your obstetrician advise a low sodium diet, clarify with the doctor the extent of sodium restriction and any fluid recommendation being made to you.
