18, independent, pregnant..?
Ok, so I'm NOT pregnant (at least, I don't think I am) but I just considered necessary to see how you would handle my situation. Well, what the situation WOULD be if I were to end up pregnant in a minute.
I love children. I can't wait to have my own child. I don't want one NOW, (though it wouldn't be a burden if it DID happen) but I cannot wait to start studying because I know the sooner I finish academy and begin making enough money, I could have a child! I with the sole purpose want one, the max two.
But anywho, right now I'm living with my grandfather. I have a boyfriend and we've be together for almost three years. We are sexually active but always use protection- I plan on getting on birth control because, though I want a baby, I know it's better to WAIT.
I be just wondering what would YOU do in my situation? Like I said, I'm 18, live with my grandpa but I buy my own food, clothes, shampoo, deoderant, everything you can cogitate of. I'm saving money from work to get my own car. I'm doing primarily EVERYTHING alone and I'm thankful for having a place to stay but right now I started wondering how crazy it would be if I WERE to be pregnant. I build 600 every 2 weeks but put away 400 and keep 200. I feel like I'm strugglying so much beside money and I worry that if I get pregnant I'd have to abort it because I by a hair`s breadth have money for myself.. So what would you do if this was a situaion? My mom doesn't help next to anything.. my boyfriend does help me a lot and in in the region of a month he will be done in school for surgical tech and they make angelic money but I know he wants to become a doctor, or a surgeon or something and I worry us having sex is a big risk and I don't want to ruin his dreams. I enjoy dreams but their merely for having good money in the adjectives.. I want to be a speech language pathologist for children. (: So I have many dreams but my biggest one is mortal a mother.
if you were pregnant it would be something you have to deal near and make a dult decisions about.
Well if i ever got pregnant i would keep the baby no situation what.
Why did you ask a "what if" question in the pregnancy section?
If you don't hold a car then you're depending on other people for transportation, so you're not independent. 18 is agency too young to take care of a babe-in-arms by yourself. Wanting to put a baby in your situation isn't a good impression. Wouldn't you want your child to have a father anyway? Lack of money is NO reason to kill a babe. Ever heard of adoption?
very well that's just crazy to think you would have to abort the little one when you are putting 75% of your pay in savings. It's not as if you are making $600 and own $1 left over after bills before food/etc etc etc.
You are on a great path positive money and being so independent. I say get on birth control and a moment ago wait a few more years.
Don't let money be your guiding light though b/c unless you are super loaded resembling celebrities etc you will never have enough money. No one does!!
Babysit to comfort your urge to have a baby. It will be so much easier for your and the child if you go ahead and finish university now. OR if you have family who can examine the baby for free while you are in school shift for it! many many people don't own money and are very happy with go and their children. I am 37 weeks preg with first and I am tripping scared about managing bills daylight care etc etc but I am 26 and decided I won't let money stop me any longer. You hold plenty of time hun though, don't rush it.
Answers: Well if i was in your situation i would find a way to net it through. I would not have an abortion just because im not ready to enjoy kids right now. Kids are expensive but you know what people say, if you lurk till you can afford kids you will never have any. There would just be certian things that you would have to tender up buying for yourself because you would have to by things for the baby. And also you would have your boyfriend to serve you. If not and he walked out on you, there is always child support. Im sure that if you did train up pregnant and your grandfather saw that you were struggling he would help you. Im sure he wouldnt just tolerate your baby go without. Even though you dont want to depend on him, im sure he would back. But if you end up pregnant you just have to hold thinking positive and realize that everything would work out, things would be harder but it would work out.
