Is it dodgy for a newborn to be born breech?

Usually a breech baby will have to be deliver by C-Section... not very many doctors will do a vaginal birth on a breech baby... the risks are impressively high as well as the complications.
You might find a doctor or two who are willing to try it, but for the most portion, if your baby is breech and cannot be turned, you're going to need a C-Section. Source(s): 32 weeks, 4 days
it is dangerous for a baby to be born breech. I was born breech, and I am fine, but 30+ years ago ultrasound be new technology so they did not always know a baby be breech til it was too late.

In a breech birth the shoulders or head can acquire stuck as they are bigger than the belly and legs.

In a breech birth the cord can become compressed and cut off the oxygen to the baby and maybe end in things like cerebal palsy.
I would say yes
Most breech babies are delivered beside c-section. It's much harder for them to come out bottom first.
I had a baby born breech and she was without blemish healthy. However, it can be dangerous, with the body coming out first, and not knowing if it is foot first or bumb first care has to be taken in the transport. Once the body is out then you have a certain amount of time to push the manager out or they will use forcips to take the baby out. I found it to be a much easier delivery that regular assignment. The body when it comes out does make room for the head to come out cutting down alot on the strain. I hope this helps you. I disagree with Mason's answer above most doctors try to do a regular delivery and try to stay away from the C-Section. Sorry Mason I have a baby that way and I delivered usually.
