Can someone help out me next to this ask concerning my 7 yr aged son? I don't know what to do...?
Okay, as I take a deep breath. About 3 months ago my son was going through some horrific changes, he went from being a immensely happy laughing little boy to a quiet, crying, acting like a 4 yr matured, in another world so I decided to call and own him tested and they did a EEG and MRI on him and it came back normal which I'm glad and delighted about but then at the end of June he be getting worse and worse so I took him to the children's hospital and they admit him into a great psy ward for children and he was there for 2 weeks, they put him on this one meds after they did adjectives these thousand and one test on him and the meds seems to work but this week its been hell. I don't even hold a diagnose yet on him, the psy. I went to see yesterday was useless, seem like she wanted us out of there asap. I call my insurance company and got some people who I thought would help us and they are not taking no alien patients, my pedestrian cant seem to help me. I feel as though not a soul cares or wants to help my son. Does anyone know what I can do or phone. I want my son to get help soon so he can have a honourable life. He might have a mild case of Autism. I lovvvvvvvvvve my infant and I want someone to help him. I know this was long and I'm sorry. I just hope someone can grant me some kind of lead. Thank you so much...:o)
Answers: Changes that sudden and that late cause me wonder about molestation or some other form of abuse. Do you really know everyone he comes in contact near?
When my son was 5, he went through quite a self-worth change. From happy, agreeable, sweet, to violent, disobedient, nearly kicked out of kindergarten. Turns out he be being molested by the 12 yr old boy next door.
As for the psych ward, and meds. What med is he on? What is it for? How can they prescribe a med for a child that have no diagnosis?? This would seriously worry me. Add to that, there are no studies that show the effects of these medications on our children's developing brains.
I am pro medication, when in that is a diagnosis, and a real effort is made to match the right med to the right child that match the diagnosis and symptoms and has the least side effects.
Talk to your pediatrician. See if he can steer you in the right direction.
Although it sounds resembling your insurance was helpful, you might still want to search around for a Pediatric Patient's Adocate - basically google that. Curious if they did anything with allergies or food allergies environment toxins even that could have triggered the change. With adjectives things like recalls in the report, you never know.
Good luck.
