Kids and R-rated movies?

How old were your kids when you first let them see R-rated movies?

I wasn't allowed untill i was 16. My daughter is only 3 and won't be watching them for some time yet.

I was 8 the first time I saw one.
My daughter is 7 and hasn't seen one yet.
I don't muse there is much chance of me letting her see one before she is 10 or 12. And even afterwards it won't be just "any" r-rated movie. It would have to be one that I feel is appropriate. (If they exist.)

For a short time ago letting her pick an r-rated movie without me viewing it first to see if it's appropriate ... I might let her do that around 15 years old if she requests to really bad.

I snuck into my R-rated movie when I was 14, but my mother did not approve of it until two years latter.

I know kids who watch R-rated movies at the age of 7 or 8. If they see sex they'll probably won't know what it is. If they see violence they will be entertain like any other person.

My daughter is 16 and she have seen a few. I haven't let my 12 year old son examine any yet.

She's thirteen and doesn't watch them. OTOH, neither do I.
