How can you turn a photography hobby into a money-making project?
i'm asking this for a stay at home mom. she doesn't have money to put up her own studio, but she does take great pictures. she doesn't have that much time on her hand either, so she wants just an on-the-side project. any ideas? online options?
She can produce homemade cards with pics on them to sell online or around the neighborhood
Since she's a stay at home mom, own her take some quality portraits of her own kids and pass out flyers starring them around Day Cares and preschools broadcasting her child portrait services.
Also check Craigslist (in the arts section). She could also try a strange angle on graduation portraits by advertising before(the start of school pictures) and the eventual after graduation pics (easy return customers). "See what a difference a school year makes".

Answers: Maybe I can help? My grandfather is an avid photographer and he take amazing photographs that he likes to sell on the side.
First get a really right printer, and photoshop. He learned photoshop skills from a friend maybe your friend might want to take a tutorial or even find instructions online.
He consequently buys the frames and such from a specialty frame store in our town. I think you could also get frames from walmart even if you requirement to.
He displays his pictures around his house and mostly sells them to his friends. He makes quite a bit of extra money doing this and surrounded by a few years he had enough to take vacation!
He also asked his friend who locally owns a furniture store to display his pictures and he sells some that way.
He self-published a photo book and sold them and 50 bucks each to catch a little profit and that was also successful.
Ask local galleries, furniture stores and display the pictures nearby and you will sell them.
He also has a blog on blogspot where he post pictures and ancestors ask him to do them in special frames.
He turns them into cards, cd covers (he burns special cds for fun as well) and that is a good belief as well!

I'm good and cheap! name your own price for taking the pictures and tolerate the wedding party have them developed or they can check out your negs and they establish which ones to pay for. simply charge a fee for doing the legwork, having the negative developed and forwarded etc.
