Any accepted wisdom on how to carry a 4 year outmoded to drink more?
Juice, ice cubes, and ice lollies don't work.
Buy a couple of really cool cups with lids. Fill them up and keep them surrounded by the fridge. Tell your child that he/she has to drink all of them by the end of the daylight and then he/she gets a reward.
Does your child like fruits? Most of them contain lots of dampen!
Also, drinking through a straw usually causes you to drink more than sipping.
I always have a drink of some sort in a cup or anything, readily available for my daughter in the fridge. Kids that age LOVE special cups and bottles, especially with straws or the squirt tops. My daughter drinks more when she's drinking out of something different close to that.
When she was still in diapers, I was going thru Walmart in the future and realized stuff in the cart (under where on earth she was sitting in the seat) was raining. Come to find out, she had been drinking out of a sports bottle of water I have given her in the car, and she must've drank so much it caused her to drizzly right thru her diaper in the store! Only time it ever happened, goes to show how much they'll drink when it's from a different benevolent of bottle!

sorry did you mean procure him to drink more as in quantity or more as in lot of different types of drinks?
Depending on how little he is drinking you might need to take him to the pediatrician. Not drinking is NOT normal. Unless you hold been drowning the poor kid with colas. Then if that's true, he might have developed a savour only for those high caloric drinks. You might try some cool bouillon, or ice cool marine, which would be your best choice.
Get fruit since they contain like mad of juice.There is a special drink for kids that do that. (you can find it at walmart) Put some chocalate in his milk. Try new drinks insead of the majority stuff you buy. =) Source(s): I take care of my 4 year old sister like mad
make it look fun, make summer cocktails near bits of fruit in it and fruit juice so it looks fun and if he helps you be paid them even better then he can be the big boy to get the first taste! if it still doesnt work catch him to eat something quite dry that youll know will make him thirsty afterwards he will.
let him not drink at all until he's really thirsty then he'll chug it down
Yeah you should get him to guzzle lots of fruit. Also try the do things like when he was younger like going oh my what's this yum yum and consequently he might drink it because it works with all children around that age or pretend its a plane or a train etc.

hold the four year olds snout so that the only way to let the child breath is through the mouth, next chug some more drink in the child's mouth.
How about fruit such as, ORANGES, GRAPES, WATERMELONS, MELONS. Which contain a lot of juice.

i have some cups with straw lids and river bottles and such that i keep in the fridge for my 4 yr old. they are clear so she can see what is contained by them. there is a water <this one is the one she drinks the most> a juice and a milk one. she go and gets what she wants to drink when she is thirsty and it is always cold. she loves have the independence to get what she wants. apt luck mama!
Well...one thing you could do is buy those cups, they drink in near like spongebob and other cartoons or designs on them, and tell him/her to drink from here so their entertained when drinking it!!

Have you tried making kool-aid (with splenda if you prefer that over sugar) and letting your 4-year old pick out her flavors? You could also try a rewards system...if he/she drinks (whatever you suggest) then he/she gets (your reward of choice). Then he/she will know it's a suitable thing that they are drinking adequately.
Give him fruit, or a really pious drink.
Answers: Take them out to choose a brand new cup,seize some crazy straws and let them choose what fruit juice they have.That process they will feel involved and not as pressured.
Even better,why not inlist their help in making up the liquid??
