2 yr. older climbing out of crib.?
My 2 yr. old son started climbing out of crib & coming in our room. Any suggestions what i could do besides going right to a bed? thanks :)
my son just went into a toddler bed and he's merely 13 months. he climbed almost all the way out of his crib i caught him just previously fell on his head. i did two days of him having just a mattress on the floor after straight into his bed and everything was good. he loves his bed and sleeps like an angel. i would suggest going for a bed. he can't stay surrounded by his crib forever!
They do trade name rails you can attach to the bed to make sure your 2 yr old doesn't role out. And you can other stick a mattress directly on the floor if you don't like that option. ... Really, the only locked way to keep a climber contained in the crib is to build some sort of strong lattice / roof on the crib. But that sounds kind of drastic and like imprisonment! In standard, it's much better to baby proof the room and give them the freedom to get surrounded by and out of bed as they please.
My daughter was only like 14 or 15 months dated when she was ready to leave the crib. Her crib be used. Not really in nice enough shape to continue endorsement on. So I just converted it into a toddler bed. I took off the side rail (the one that moves up and down.) I get some angled bracket things at the hardware store to make sure it would stay sturdy with the side missing. And I sawed off the legs so it wouldn't be so far for her to find on and off. I also folded a blanket beside it on the floor for my own peace of mind :) - Just in case she fell.
With any adjectives kids, unless I end up with another crib that is on its end user, I will probably just put their mattress directly on the floor so I don't have to worry going on for rolling off or getting caught between it and the side rails.
well going to a bed is the only realistic suggestion
so no.
I would lower the crib bar down so if he does fall it will be smaller number of a fall and putting down one those children mats with the abcs on them to cushion any falls. in a minute that he is capable of getting out of bed i dont think there is much you can do to stop him except take home it less hazardous and letting him know its not ok.
not much honestly. time for a bed, otherwise he could really hurt himself
What's wrong with getting them a bed? A cot isn't really comfortable for most 2 year olds. My son was getting too big, and climbing out of his cot, when he was 1, that's when I basically got him a proper bed to sleep in.
Answers: Once a child can climb out of a crib next the only safe thing to do is to go and get a regular bed as he can get hurt if he falls or gets an arm or leg stuck while climbing out. Better to spend the money on a bed than on a trip to the emergency room with a broken bone.
It's no longer safe, he needs a bed or toddler bed.
My youngest have been in one since 14 months old and have done great (he's a monkey boy, lol).
Sounds like someone requests a toddler bed. That is the only valid answer I can think of. It gives the kid smaller amount of a chance of hurting himself.
my infant cousin did that...really probably the safest bet would be to go to a bed
Your 2 year old should already be sleeping surrounded by his own bed. You can buy a smaller bed and train him to stay in it and sleep in it at night. Tell him adjectives the big boys are sleeping in their own beds now and that you want him to be see as a big boy [which you should] so he looks handsome and strong and confident and just so he is not a little baby, share him babies sleep in cribs.
