Why do parents grant their kids cheap name that pigeon-hole them for enthusiasm as low society?
I've been a teacher (in the UK) for years and I've noticed you never really capture kids with "behavioural issues" named James or Claire, they are always call Wayne or Chantelle. Why give your innocent newborn kid a name that labels it within society's eyes as a chav or peasant from the start, why not try to give it the best start in life by giving it a respectable mark?
I'm genuinely curious...
They could be the Prince of Tides for all i know I say look at their parents!
I don't think parents intentionally give their kids name that will harm them later in existence. Names of children don't lable them in society, their behavior does. How their parents act and bestoe values, is definitely the knob to how their children will behave in society. Not by their name.
So when you get your subsequent set of kids in class this year, don't prejudge them upon their name, but by what they show you in class. Sometimes it is frozen not to see a pattern of some kind, but it is still a Character issue, that stems from the parents and their own environment that surrounds them that reflects within their behavior.
that is you op. on good names or not
lol powerfully my sons middle name is James, so maybe he will be safe. I guess parents name their children what they like and I do not think that a signature damages a child for life. There are some names that I do not care for, but what do I know- look at how I spelled Jackson- JAXON.
lol, at smallest you can change a name if you need to.
Answers: I've noticed here, kids saddled next to names that are intentionally misspelled, or girls with 'stripper names', or boys with 'entity names' (like Brittnee, Painten, Candi, Jaydon, Tiffini, etc) are the ones who seem to have the kind of 'behavioural issues' that relate to impossible parenting.
Or, perhaps the childrens' parents simply placed a low value on their education, and the misspelling of such name is just the result of their illiteracy?
I hold never noticed that. But I will say that I feel sorry for some children who enjoy extremely odd, but not "cute" names.
With my son I gave him a term that is very uncommon contained by the US, Gareth. Of course here people dropped the "e" and it became garth.
And what would your opinion on that entitle be?
name dont really matter in life. i know a claire who is a bummed out druggy, a james who is other in trouble. it has more to do with parents and the kids social areana that cause these problems not names
I'm curious as to where you are getting your background. What are names that label babies as a chav or peasant from the start? I have never hear of that before. My children's names are Wyatt and Zo"e. Please tell me, oh clever one, what do these names say about them?
I really doubt that most name create any issues. That being said, some people are weird! I worked at a christen center and was often curious about WHY someone would pet name their child these things! My favorite examples:
Candy Hooker (Now what OTHER job can that woman get?! lol)
William Williams
Sue Faree (Pronounced "fairy", and it was a man name)
Michael Jackson (the man was only 20, so it was definetly not a coincidence)
and my favorite... Adolf Hiller (SERIOUSLY? Your heading is one letter off from "Hitler" so you name your son Adolf?)
Hahaha family are cruel... makes for a good laugh at work though :)
Behavioral problems are generally caused by chemical imbalance in the brain, and sometime a low/high hormone level.
Since when does a persons label control their biology?
Your are being very arrogant. Typical British guy. I can name my childeran Wayne if I similar to. You need to stop assuming stuff. Reported. If some evil woman decides to name her son Gaylord, does that automatically cause him gay?
Conner, Steven, Melissa, Brady. What one has a bad attitude?
LMAO! Okay, Isaac Dust, what ARE some respectable names? Just so we know.
I'm from the US so I'm not sure why Wayne or Chantelle are bad names because they're normal name here, but I do understand what you're talking about. Sort of. haha. I really regard as the more "traditional" sounding names come from more "traditional" style parents who generally believe in firm discipline, correct education, and strong religion. I would say usually the kids who have "different" name come from the parents who generally put emphasis on being different and have your own personality.
But, I really think that you can overcome your circumstance and be a good kid even if your first name is a little "different". Our president in the US is named Barack Obama. Not George Washington, LOL.
my sons describe is brody jaxon...i bet hes gonna be one big A hole huh?!
*rolls eyes*
If everyone named their kids James or Claire that would be REALLY confusing, no?
:-)
My name is Catherine and I did very poorly within school. It's not always name relatein seventh heavenp
My kids are call Scott, Heather and Kimberley. One has behavioural Problems.
Which one?
(Since you're such an expert on the matter?)
EDIT Wrong Scott has a condition call Neurofibromatosis which causes his behavioural difficulties.
Not so pigeon holed afterall eh?
Out of curiosity, what are your children called and what subject do you teach?
EDIT2. Maybe kids deed up cause they are uncomfortable performing in drama. And English (especially contained by UK schools can be boring)
A name has nought to do with how a person acts.
Thomas Hamilton is a relatively ''normal'' identify and look what he did.
You rarely hear of Britney or Tyrone in the news for brandshing a gun contained by oublic.
It's not the name its the person.
