Pre-parenting...?
Has your expectations of how you intended to parent turned out how you had initially planned? The things you either said you would never do or would always do, did that work out for you? Do you ever look stern on some of your ideals and thoughts on parenting in the pre-parenting (aka BC aka Before Children) stage and kind of laugh or at the extraordinarily least giggle over it?
when i was a teen i always said i would enjoy a little boy and name him damien haha when it came down to it next in life i had for a moment girl first and shes very girly that is something i giggle roughly speaking however my parenting expectionations is what i thought.
lol. nope i always said i would never pull a hand to my child ever not even a tap on the hand when they be little. my daughter is almost one and into everything so i lightly tap her hand to permit her know that she's done something wrong but after the 5th time of telling her no and moving her. also said i would never bribe my child to be good in the store or doctors bureau..yeah right ask my four year old how many times he's heard if you a short time ago be quiet you can have a sucker when you get home...my view have wavered from time to time.

I have 4 kids, 2 girls and 2 boys . I have learned that zilch turns out as you planed.
Answers: I never thought I would have kids but I've other loved kids and theyve always loved me. As a very close uncle to my niece and nephew I had enormously clear ideas about parenting and how children should be treated.
I can honestly say that since have kids I have been true to my ideals.
I feel ashamed sometimes because I can be rougher than my ideals, I sometimes screech and act irrational and I hate that part of me. But, for the most module, I have pretty much stuck to my pre-parenting ideals.
My kids love me and like me and tell me so frequently and that make me feel worthy (although my middle son says F.U on occasion)
my only counsel to you.. let them have friends over when ever! play dates
