Have any of your children ever broke a bone?

How do you make them SMILE ? Uhhggg.

My daughter broke her collar bone earlier this week, and I haven't seen her smile at adjectives (understandably of course). She's in a considerable amount of pain and I don't know how to meet her desires on an emotional and mental level =[

I have no clue what to do for her i.e how to cheer her up .

Any thinking? Thanks.
my daughter broke her arm the day after her 5th birthday, she's just turned 7 immediately.

Most things i tried to do to cheer her up didn't really work, but she came around after a week or so, after the pain went away.
Just be around her and pass lots of cuddles, watch dvd's with her, make her rime cream cones with fun toppings and all that fun stuff kids like when they are sick or injured

she'll come around, she a short time ago needs time to get over the pain of it Source(s): mum of 3
aww... Poor kiddo.

When my daughter be 7 she fell of the monkey bars and dislocated her shoulder and bruised her collar bone and I also had no idea to help out cheer her up.

I ended up asking her if she wanted to do anything, watch anything or own any treat she wanted. All she wanted was to be going shopping for a couple of new games we could play together, some movies and ice cream.

If she likes to produce things and get messy, you can always make a cake or some muffins together and tolerate her lick out the bowel or you could go for a walk and play a game similar to eye spy or name that animal while you are walking or maybe just cuddle up near her and watch a movie of her choice.
I don't have kids.But I have broke:

My arm from jumping on the bed
My finger from trying to do a handstand, lol.
I've broken my:
collar bone
both legs*
both arms*
numerous fingers*
ankle

That's adjectives in 17 years while doing something I wasn't supposed to.
What I can remember my parents doing mostly is talking to me,trying to include me and be with me,even if it be just laying in the bed beside me.

Answers:    Awww Madi...poor little angel! Broken collarbones are no fun! My son has broken his collarbone twice, once when he was 12 while snowboarding and then he broke it again concluding April at a State Wrestling Tournament ( the same one)...she'll cheer up, its still difficult for her having pain and not man able to use it, the pain should be gone very soon and she will seize used to doing things with her arm in an immobilizer. Lots of hugs and kisses and bowls of ice cream work wonders to cheer them up when they're broken!

Danielle...Broken femur at age 4
Erick..Broken wrist and thumb at age 8, broken collarbone age 12, broken collarbone age 15
Taylor...Broken wrist at age 6
First off, I am so sorry to hear that, because those are painful.

Well, I don't own any children but I broke my wrist...and my other friends have broken more things. Snuggle her, watch movies, have a shopping sunshine, or a girls day. Go out and buy ice cream. Treat her to a nice meal. Rent or buy her favorite movie. Things resembling that...

Oh, poor kid. Poor mom!

My daughter broke her humerus (bone between elbow and shoulder) when she was five. She couldn't be casted (like your child) because the die would pull the break apart further...so she was just surrounded by a sling.

You're not going to make your child cheerful - she's in too much pain, and her comings and goings are too restricted. Just be with her and help her. Help her with arts and crafts - taking the boater off the markers, opening things, and so forth.) Have some friends come over.

The angelic news is that kid heal really fast.

Wishing her well brought-up health.

ll the best.
Well, I had a compound fracture several years ago when i was a kid and I be high off drugs. Lol. I couldn't even respond half of the time because I be always asleep or zoned out.

My suggestion is to just make sure you take whatever it is she needs. I loved seeing my mom bring me my food and everything. Hehe. It was so empower. :)
My daughter (20 months) broke her elbow last weekend. Other than keeping up on pain medication and lots of snuggles there isn't a full lot I did different. She doesn't seem to notice it or mind her cast at this point, and your daughter will probably gain to that point as well.
