Moms, would you wear pantyhose beside a denim skirt?
Why or why not?
It is a knee-length skirt that buttons down the front. We are doing family photo, and my mom insists I should wear pantyhose. I think that's just older fashioned. WDYT?

I wouldn't ever wear pantyhose.. period.
If anything I would get a spray tan if my legs needed a pick me up.. but not pantyhose.
I'm not a mom, but don't listen to the previous answers because they don't know what they are discussion about and will only steer you wrong. It's important to look your best. I don't know where on earth you are from but here in eastern Europe women where pantyhose all the time. Under shorts, skirts, anything. But then again women here are more feminine and sexy and have great looking legs compared to women in the U.S. Lots of western women don't wear pantyhose because they are starch bombs and putting them on would be approaching putting a banana skin over a watermelon. If you have great looking legs, enhance them 10X. In photographs, bare legs look horrible.

NO- a denim skirt is too dispassionate for pantyhose. Just wear some cute sandles with it.

Pantyhose should be reserved for conservative dress situations similar to work, funeral, wedding, etc. Even in those instances the tackiness factor is iffy. Just my humble opinion- they are just behind the times fashioned to me.
I would say that you should wear pantyhose simply to keep the peace. Maybe you could talk with your mom roughly the possibility of wearing some patterned or fishnet pantyhose to give your outfit a more younger and "trendy" look.
Just so you know, I'm probably closer in age to your mom (soon to be 43 - UGH!) and other wear pantyhose to work too, even with my denim skirts that I wear occasionally. But I understand where you're coming from! ;-)
