Poll: What age did you start allowing your child to:?
These are the ages I allowed my child to do these things, just curious about others' opinions.
Pierce ears: 5
Wear lip gloss(clear):4
Wear colored lip make notes on:7
Paint nails:2
Wear kiddie makeup:9
Shave: 11
Wear heels: 12
Wear actual makeup:13
Dye hair (natural colors only):15
Pierce ears: We enjoy no set age on that. I let them when they ask for them.
Wear lip gloss(clear): Again, no set age. My oldest is now 14, and didn't really wear any until she was 5 or 6. However, my 4 year olds see their big sister wearing it and ask for their own. They probably have their own sheer lip gloss when they were 2 1/2-3. I see no problem with it, newly for fun!
Wear colored lip gloss: Well, until they ask for a specific color, I'd get them sheer until they were 7 or 8.
Paint nail: Oh please, I used to do my girls nails when they were 6 months, LOL.
Wear kiddie makeup: You mean resembling those cute dress-up sets? Whatever age they start playing with it! Of course I wouldn't put it on them to go out, but I see no problem with have a little fun at home.
Shave: When she starts becoming uncomfortable with the curls on her legs.
Wear heels: When she finds a pair of heels she likes and are appropriate. I have no problem next to it at 11 or 12.
Wear actual makeup: Little by little is the best way to go. With my oldest, I gave her for a moment mascera in 6th grade (she didn't ask, but I gave it to her anyway). Then she only just asked for more and more as the years went by.
Dye hair (natural colors only): We really haven't gone down that road yet, because she loves her pure color. I guess if she wanted it done though, I'd let her.
Pierce ears: Well I have no set age, just when they asked. One of my daughters asked at 5 1/2 (just go them pierced about 7 weeks ago), other daughter say she is waiting until she is 21 (I don't know why, but we will see).
Wear lip gloss(clear): It was probably about 3 1/2-4.
Wear colored lip gloss: They sometimes do immediately, at 5 1/2 but very rare.
Paint nails: I focus it was about 2.
Wear kiddie makeup: They have some very soon at 5, and it was bought last year when they were 4. *It is for when we are home, newly for fun.
Shave: I will probably let them at about 12.
Wear heels: Probably like 14 or so for actual heels. Some of their shoes presently have had a little bit of a heel to them.
Wear actual makeup: 14.
Dye coat (natural colors only): Probably 15, that is when I first got mine dyed, well highlights.

Pierce ears: I have them hang around until they're 5, after I've explained it to them... My oldest daughter waited until she was 6, and my other two daughters are too young. :) (I also enjoy a son.)
Wear lip gloss(clear): My 10-year-old (oldest daughter) still doesn't wear it... I'm not opposed, at her age, as long as it's just a little... So, 10 is fine, IMO.
Wear colored lip gloss: I'd consent to her at age 12, as long as it was a fairly neutral color... No hooker colors, or extremely dramatic colors.
Paint nail: 2 or 3... That's when I painted my oldest daughters'. I've never painted my second daughters', and she's two, now... I just don't have much time, and never ruminate of it. (4 kids!)

Shave: As needed. I wouldn't put an age on it... If she had started puberty, and needed to shave at 9, so be it... She's just very soon barely starting, so I'd say around 12.
Wear heels: 14 - 15, depending on why... Not just for the heck of it.
Wear actual makeup: 13.
