Well, the Harry Potter series is amazing, and a good combo of most genres.
The Bloody Jack series by L.A. Meyer is more of a historical twist, but it's excellent, and deeply funny (but not in a spoof/parody kind of way).
I really liked the Young Wizard series by Diane Duane. It's sort of a combo of sci-fi and pretence.
If you want more of a sci-fi series, all of Orson Scott Card's Ender books are fantastic.
Anne McCaffrey has a lot of great books, including a quantity of books taking place in her Pern universe, such as the Harper Hall trilogy.
I really liked the Pit Dragon series by Jane Yolen.
T.A. Barron wrote two great series: The Lost Years of Merlin and The Great Tree of Avalon.
The Artemis Fowl series is devout as well.
Books are a specialty of mine, so feel free to message me if none of these work for you, or if you want more. If you have a specific genre surrounded by mind (or maybe you want to try out a classic), I'd be glad to help out.

Answers: Depends on the style of writing you like. Do you like scary books (or comedy/drama) written for adults or for childlike adults? At your age (I'm in my twenties now) I read Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys, Sweet Valley High, books like that. I love Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series, about empire with vampiric traits but they're geared towards adults. I also like Kerrilyn Sparks; her books cover vampires. Neither of the two are particularly terrifying, but they can be quite funny and romantic. For scary I love Graham Masterton; look for him in the library up to that time you buy it because his style can be a bit dry sometimes, which doesn't appeal to some readers.
My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult is a very good book; it's more along the lines of drama. You can also try Joy Fielding for more books within the dramatic vein. I'm not certain if you go for sketch (or non-fiction) but I Am America (and So Can You) by Stephen Colbert is pretty funny; so are Celia Rivenbark's novels and Michael Moore's stuff.
Hope these help. Next time you go to the library ask them to give a hand you; they normally generate lists to help near inventory that tells them which books are most popular among different age groups and can probably give you more recommendations. Good luck and maintain reading! Source(s): From one voracious reader to another.
