Any silly moms out nearby?

My twins are 2 and I'll admit it. I'm an almost 30 year old and I like to stroke silly. When one of them has her little tantrums I'll usually start acting out too and pretending to cry, throw myself on the floor, etc. Then, when I have her attention, I make a silly nouns or sing a silly song.

I like to have fun with my kids.

My girls will usually start to chortle and the one previously having a little tantrum because I told her she couldn't have XYZ will vote:

"Mama, you SILLY!"

I can't wait for them to be clever and say silly things. I love it when they make silly face at their baby brother when he's crying and I'm trying to do some chore.

So what about you? Anyone use silly behavior in establish to end tantrums, distract toddlers, just play and have fun?

I enjoy 2 year old twins and a 5 month old. Everyone is silly. lol
GoofeyMom, here.
Yes, I did stuff like that all the time.
I taught my daughter how to respond, "Genetics!" whenever stranger would say-so, "how did you get so pretty/beautiful?" (it happened a LOT).
Even now (daughter's 14) I use humor do distract from the gravity of a situation. It's important and inspiring, I'll probably never quit.
Both my kids (14 & 26) are sharp as tacks with a tremendous sense of humor and a broad and bright view of situations.
I hold reminding them to 'use your powers for good', and be an asset to those around them.

Silly is GOOD. Humor is powerful and best used in the right hands (yours, mine & folks like us).
What's that proverb: "Well-behaved women rarely make history" !
LOL. When my daughter is fine, just wanting to be held, she'll grunt so I'll grunt back at her. Most of the time she'll smile and start laughing. Or if she's getting upset and doesn't inevitability to be fed or changed I'll blow a raspberry at her or on her tummy and she'll laugh. It's so funny how quickly her mood can coppers just from a silly action. They're amazing!
Answers:    Yes when kids are having tantrums and lay on the floorm I'll grab a body part, like an arm, and right to be heard LET IT OUT!! BE FREE!! BE HAPPY!!

ANd I'll jiggle their arms and wiggle their legs, and tickle their bellies until they forgot.

I have to be in the mood for that though lol

Some tantrums get solved by me, simply ignoring them.
Me and my husband are a silly couple..of course now that we have kids their personality are starting to shape and I can see the silliness coming out in them...I think one of the most important things surrounded by life is humor.
As long as your kids grow up at smallest somewhat disciplined (as in rights and wrongs), I'm sure it's okay! At least they'll grow up to have a great sense of humor!
Guilty as charged!

I've been acting silly and singing silly made-up songs ever since my 4 year old daughter be born. And I've just recently gotten even sillier for my 4 month old. LOL
:p

well...picture this!

Mom of 4 playing the toy section at Wally World...instead of grocery shopping...a blur of Nerf ball, hula hoops and super balls in our wake. ummm yes, i am totally silly w/my kids. It help that i had ADD as a kid, and have my "ADD moments" as i call them from time to time.
I proscribe to suck the fun out of every waking moment like some parents do. Every once in a while my kids deserve to travel a bit bonkers w/mommy!

btw- i'm 32. LOL (and yes people gawk...LET THEM GAWK AHHHA!) Source(s): Obsessed w/baby names, Military Wife & Mother of 4 (13 y/o son, 11 y/o son, 3 y/o daughter & 1 1/2 y/o son)
haha i love when moms enunciate lol.
I find that doing things like this works best. When my 3 year old starts whining, I'll mimic everything she say...even trying to whine the same words with her at the same time. She can't not giggle at this, and the whining stops.
Yes, yes, yes! Not only do the kids go and get distracted from their little tantrums but I get less stressed and annoyed for their behavior when I get down and silly near them. When my youngest boy starts to whine and complain I play along and say "yes,it's is so sad and yes you have an misshapen, ugly mom" and then I hug him. It's so much better than trying to negotiate with a stubborn little one and we both guffaw.

My boys, my husband and I love making silly faces at each other just because. When things are getting to serious beside terribly uptight grandparents or someone is being rude instead of being angry we show our silly face and move on.
Wait until they get older, it's even more fun because you get to really loop them up, lol. My son's 11 now, so it's not tantrums, it's moods (thankfully just occasionally tho), but I can always catch him to laugh and he hates it when I can always gain him out of his moods.

He doesn't even bother calling me silly or daft anymore, he just shakes his head at me as if I'm a lost cause, lol.

Then I started pretending that I'm going to be sensible from very soon on, and be 'sensible mum', but he hates that even more than me being stupid.
Well, my daughter isn't a toddler yet since she's solitary 9 months old, but I have been particular to join her in her fits before, we'll both be on the floor screaming and whining. I've gotten moderately a few funny looks from her for that one lol
I'm usually the one on the floor rolling around with her and getting her all riled up right before powernap or bed time lol
We have also waltzed around the living room to rock and roll more times than I can count :)
I also get lots of giggles out her when I do a funny little salsa and sing the songs that play on her toys lol
ive done the chicken dance within the store waiting to pay and kiddos getting grumpy. also been known to put something on my chief and fake sneeze to get it off. other erupts in giggles. Source(s): get looks everywhere when im beside the kids.
