As a parent, what would be some question you would ask?
Monday I am going to my daughter's *old* daycare to see what they have to say about not calling us when she be stung & why they sat her in the corner because she was crying and wouldn't stop. Her foot be obviously swollen and considering she kept saying "my foot, my foot" they could've done something different.
My fiance was the one that picked her up that time. I wanted to go back up to the daycare one and the same day but knew I wouldn't get anywhere since I wasn't the most restrained person after hearing that.
I'm taking her out of that daycare anyway, but I would still like some sort of answer to why the handle it like that. As a parent, what would be some questions you would ask?
i would certainly be asking them why they think its acceptable to deny your child medical attention that she obviously needed.
do they do that with all children? why did not a soul contact you about it? why did no one try to comfort her when she was crying? why did they put her within time out when they could see she was obviously upset?
sounds like a unpromising daycare - about the same as my son's old daycare, if a kid bit him, hit him, if he fell over and grazed his knees etc they didnt even tell me and they are meant to fill out an incident form respectively and every time!
I would ask them to explain what they thought be happening during the whole ordeal. It would all depend on their answers after that.
I would probably be batty as well. And pull my child out. I'm not sure that's the absolute best passageway to handle the situation, but I'd probably do it anyway.
I'd also probably throw in "What if she were allergic to bee stings?" Just to brand them understand how very insensitive it was that they didn't address the situation directly.
they are offering you a service (for your most precious thing) therefore you are entitle to clear and detail explanations in the region of whatever you want to ask
if not happy afterwards. correct place
:)
wow kudos for not blowing up! i would have raised hell and emergency why in hell they did not give her enough attention to realize that something be wrong with her foot. were they stupid idiots or what?! i would calmly and totally pissed asked what the hell were they thinking was going on and why was not a soul notified. depending on your daughters injuries or result of lack of attention to say i can suppose a law suit fr negligence.. Source(s): pissed off mom

Questions to ask
1. Were you aware my daughter had been stung?
wether they say yes or no you can afterwards ask
"yes" - well why was she not attended to?
"no " - Well why was she a short time ago put in a corner to cry, didn't you ask why she was crying?
"didn't you see the foot was swollen?
"couldn;t you see she be scared and in pain?
My biggest cross-examine.
Why wasn't anyone watching her?
Your child could have had a reaction to that sting, she and the year care centre are incredibly lucky she didnt have a doomed to failure reaction.
I answered your original question and it reminded mne of the time a boy within my daughters nursey jammed her fingers in a door - 2 of her nails were bruised and if truth be told came off.
I complained in writing to the conservatory board for the fact 2 children were unattended in that nursery that daytime ( the ration there is 1 adult to 4 children) and my daughter recieved an injury
I don't see your situation as any different
Even if your daughter was a poor gossip (which she isn't) I have never met any 2 year old that can't say "Bee" or "buzz" and EVERY child know how to point to a site of pain.
There was no excuse for how your daughter was treated.
SUE THEM!!
I would be more angry about they corner issue than the bee, but I would be piping hot about both.
I would ask to see they medical policies about bee stings, cuts, bruises etc.
Then I would enjoy a conversation about the time out. I understand sometime little ones are over dramatic but a little sympathy was needed.
