2 am phone call from mom?
My husbands ex-wife often calls at midnight or even later when the kids are here next to us... particularly if the kids are out of town with their dad and I or if she's out of town and the kids are staying with us while she's gone.
I devise this is rude.
Is there some reason she can't call contained by the morning/
She's calling because she wants to see what we are all doing and if the kids are asleep or not.
Usually on holiday weekends or other weekend nights, we tolerate the kids stay up late.
What is her problem?
The kids are 16, 14, 12, & 11.
Her problem is that those are her kids and obviously cares satisfactory to call them even at the latest of times. My mom would call me pretty tardy at night if I went and spent the night at my cousins or friends. She have every right to see if her kids are alright. My question is what is YOUR problem?
She does have a right to check on her kids and make sure they're okay but the 2 am calls nouns like something she's doing just to irritate you. You have the right to ask her not to phone call your home or cell phone after bed time (whatever that is for you and the kids) unless it is a true emergency.
It sounds like the kids are old plenty to call her if they are up late and just want to chat beside their mom. If she's calling the kids while intoxicated or if she's upsetting them I would cut her off altogether.
Answers: Yes that is rather rude! Tell her that she should please give the name you at appropriate times of the day, and not in the night! You and your husband are evolve people and im sure you know how to take care of kids. Put her contained by her place now before this goes too far. Be polite but straight beside her. She has the right to check on her children, but not in that manner! righteous luck x
First I would achieve caller ID if you don't have it all arranged. And if she calls at midnight or later just don't filch the call. If she leaves a message I would call her back at clad time in the morning. You could also inform her that you dont take phone call after a reliable time in the evenings.
Take the phone off the hook, mobiles off, or turn everything on mute.
You do not own to answer or put up with that BS.
you should deffinately put her in her place.. shes not with him anymore you are. theres no involve for her to be calling at midnight! if something happens obvs your going to let her know. tell her to lay stale and give you some privacy! ..shes obvs seeing what you and ur husband are up to, not the kids!
It is bad manners, but you really are kind of stuck. They are her children, and it would be markedly difficult for me to not be "allowed" to speak with my child for some reason. Do any of them have their own phones? Maybe you can set up boundaries, approaching, she can call the kids whenever she wants (on their phone), but can only appointment your house between the hours of "X & X", unless there is an actual emergency. She likely won't want to just wake up up the kids at 2am if there is no payoff to talk to your hubby.
That said, this is what happens contained by these situations. They have the kids in common, and they still come first.
Unplug the landline and turn off the cellphones. She'll get the connotation. Any arguing you do with her just gives her what she desires...attention.
