2009 No Child Left Unimmunized Against Influenza Act?
I have a few questions about this accomplishment
do the schools need my written permission to inoculate my oldest against the swine flu?
what can I do to stop my son from getting the flu vaccine?
At this point in history, it is completely against our constitutional rights to mandate and / or force immunizations upon the citizens of our country.
You merely need to sign a waiver at your son's institution.
But be mentally prepared to get a bunch of grief from the school office and staff for your ruling.
The flu vaccine isn't required for school so I would assume that the bill is only trying to make getting the shot at arts school an option. It's mostly to make it easier for parents to get it done if they want it for their child. It's similar to the little clinics in stores only it will be set up in the university for children. I can't find anything on the specifics yet but that would be my guess. I certainly hope they don't mean to lately line every child up in the school to afford them a shot, there are a lot of reasons not to go and get it(allergies, personal beliefs...) so I don't believe they can do that.
Answers: Here is the current text of the bill. It has not been passed into decree yet. http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext…
If passed, it would not go into effect until the 2010 influenza season, meaning tip out of 2010. Participation would be voluntary.
If your child's school ends up participating, you should be extra careful. Even though participation "shall be voluntary," mistakes are regularly made. If my children's school ever gave vaccines, I would keep my kids home on that sunshine and the makeup day(s).
Request a Waiver from the School Nurse, I do not vaccinate my children, I allow easily aquired Immunity to prevail. The 2009 No Child Left Unimmunized Act will be as about as effective as the No Child Left Behind Act.
The 1970's vaccine was Devastating to tons, and there Never was a Pandemic. The vaccine was proven more insanitary than the flu itself. Source(s): ER RN/Mother of 3
Talk to the school about it. I think you SHOULD consent to him get the vaccine. It would be healthier on him than NOT doing it,and him getting that. Kids don't get sick from flu vaccines,my daughter's have them every year, she's six,and she does fine. It's not the 70s anymore. They redid a lot of the vaccine, where it's not made up of like things. Medicine has came a long way. If there's an allergy or something, I see how it would get sense to NOT get it totally. It's a parent's choice, just saying what I'd do if contained by the situation. Don't need the millions thumbs down just bc I'm a pro vaccinator. Read up on your RIGHT info, and don't find it online.
You have to initial and sign for your kids to get vaccinated at the pediatrician bureau so I can't imagine not needing permission to inject your kids at institution. There ARE kids who are allergic and God, the school can't even give your kid a dose of Advil without assent so they can't just inject your kid without permission. Right?
