EDIT: As far as life insurance, only my husband and I are insured.
In some places (like my city) you can capture free vaccinations through your local health department. Where I live, anyone can get the free vaccination, it's not just for the poor or kids on medicaid. You might want to contact you health department.
Yes, we're all insured right immediately. Come September, my husband, younger daughter, and I won't be insured anymore. I pay for my older daughter's insurance so she'll still be insured and I'll be insured again come January through my job. My husband have a new job so he'll have insurance after 90 days on the brief.

I live in Canada so we don't need medical (I should because prescription costs are through the roof)
We don't have the insurance thingy here.
There is public health, which every citizen is entitled too. It is mostly free, sometimes massive waiting list.
Then there is private health, for people who earn over so much a year. It's not so big on the waiting list, and it's a lot more severe on the wallet.
We have life insurance on adjectives of us. My Boys are automatically covered by my life insurance.
We are all insured...when my husband switched jobs we got primary medical policy to cover the time in between. It wasn't that expensive and it would have helped singular if something major had happened. If you are concerned going on for keeping on track with vaccines, go to the health department surrounded by your area, they will be cheap or free.

For the children, individual you live in the US, go for Children Health Plus so at least you will enjoy Insurance for them. Do that ASAP.

My husband was laid off in Sept. 08 and I be laid off in Dec 08. Our benefits stopped as of 1/1/09 and we didn't have any insurance. I be always worried that something might come up and we didn't have insurance but I couldn't afford to buy private insurance. I became pregnant within March and qualifed for Medi-Cal for my pregnancy but because I was getting unemployment and my husband was also we made too much to qualify the house on Medi-Cal. On 6/1/09 my daughter was riding her bike and fell. She couldn't walk on 1 foot so I had to lug her to the emergency room. OMG! Do you know what they charged me? $1,900. We had to wait 6 hours, saw the nurse practitioner for 3 minutes and was charged $1,900. If you can attain insurace get it. Anything can happen with kids.
I don't really need medical insurance since I'm in Canada. But the 3 of us do have vivacity insurance.
Fully. All of us.Life, health, dental, vision. Thank God. There are places that will insure you for a low price or for free depending on your call for.
