Son not rolling over?
My son turned 4 months on July 3rd. He's still not rolling over, which concerns me. He is on track with everything else. He will stand on his own if he has something to lean on like the couch. He babble, sits well (lightly supported), makes raspberry noises, laughs, giggle, etc. It seems like the has no intention or drive to roll over. If we put him on his stomach he any lays his head down and falls asleep, or just does the mini push ups and giggles. He have rolled over a couple of times, but it definitely wasn't intentional. He was at the doctor today for his well newborn, and the doctor said it will happen when it happens, but for some reason I am still concerned. My hubby think I am overreacting a little bit, and maybe I am, but any guidance would be appreciated. I put him in his room today on his tummy and we laid on the floor beside his toys sprawled out around him and he still had no interest.
Okay, this is long enough! When did your babies roll. and did they do it on their own or did you entice them with toys?
Don't worry! Everything happens at different stages for kids, and some kids skip a stage all together! I imagine my son was around 4 months too before he rolled from front to back properly (there be times I'd prop him up on his arms leaning slightly on his front and he'd roll over naturally, but that was gravity, not physical exertion lol), and it was a good month or two afterwards that he started back to front rolling (that one be a total shock - he'd never shown any signs of it before so I'd laid him on his back on the bathroom floor under a playgym while I took a shower, and I come out if the steamy shower to find he'd rolled over and dragged himself over to the toilet!).
If your son is otherwise progressing fine, which it certainly sounds like he is, you honestly have zilch to worry about at all. Even if he NEVER rolls (which I'm sure he will!) - if the rest of his nouns is fine there is no cause to worry, not adjectives kids fit the textbooks! To give you an example - my son totally skipped the sitting stage. All his baby friends would be sitting and he would still be on his stern. He crawled before he sat! He didn't even start kneeling until he be TEN months old, but if I tried to sit him with his legs out even then he would topple over! I be out of my mind with worry, convinced myself he had a spinal problem, be in and out of the doctors (who kept telling me he was fine) - after he started walking at 11 months, before he ever sat! It wasn't until he was 13 or 14 months that I caught him sitting stable next to his legs out under him, and even now at 18 months he rarely does it! But he's otherwise definitely fine, I think he was just too interested to do everything else and missed it out all together!
All babies conquer those milestones at different ages. My son never crawled! He would scoot on his belly, but not on his hands and knees. He pulled up on the couch when he was 9 mths old and WALKED across the room! But nonetheless he still couldn't crawl. Don't worry so much. He'll roll over when you're not expecting it and then you won't be able to hang on to him still.
Answers: My son be six and a half months..and he did it lying under his mobile to reach his side toys. six and a partly months. seriously, sometimes they just don't go by the books. he excelled contained by certain things and in others he did them when he was arranged. he flatly refused to take a bottle once he was 13 months out-of-date...even when he was sick. it was sippy or nothing. but he be two months late rolling over. your doctor is right.no baby is by the book on everything. He is probably more than capable of doing it, he a moment ago isnt interested in doing it..sounds to me like he is content just not doing it.
