How can some parents a moment ago not love their child(ren)?
I know, I know. They are not obligated to do so. It just hasn't hit me yet. Is it because of their past? Or d they a moment ago not want to get attached. I may sound like a brat axiom this, but I know my father does not love me. Just because he hasn't told me doesn't mean I can't tell by his actions.

well,most of the parents own their secrets that try to hide it from you and do you ever they can to protect if it means hurting by a course,but that's too much,I know every parent loves their children,except for irresponsible parents.Even I,if I mess up,they would totally hurt me,but I know that it is my mistake,hehe.You can see if someone loves you or not,if they care for you they love you,if they would try to kill you,well,not,lately kidding hehe.(`Y`)

men especially have trouble showing their love, especially when their babies get over a certain age - im sure he does love you, why not merely come out and ask him, see what response you get
if the parents hold pretty normal lives and they dont show that they love their children and it appears that they regret them, i think the dad shouldve kept his noodle in his pant and the mother shouldve kept her darn legs clothes!
Answers: Unfortunately, love isn't automatic when a child is born. My mom made great pains for me and I recognize that, but I don't think she actually loved me at any point. She didn't want children (I'm solely there because coat-hangers don't actually work) and I was the one who broke her adjectives, no matter how hard she tried there be still something in her that resented it. But except for the period of time she was contained by a depression, she managed to treat me and her other kids right.
For your father, it's very sad but it be his decision to start over. New girlfriend, new life, and attaches to his "past" become unwelcome. He may regret it within the future but for the moment he has this thing that comes to lots middle-aged men, he wants to be young again and of course childish men don't have teenage daughters.
Ask to only call round him when you really have to. If he ends up forgetting about you, he was hopeless to commence with, and if he still has love, he'll miss you.
Maybe HE wasn't loved as a child, so he doesn't know how to love you.
Be thankful he is not a gerbil and trying to eat you...

The best means of access to find out is even if its hard, ask him about his past and what his nearest and dearest was like.
Even confess how you feel, you might be surprised near the results. and even it they go bad, at least you know. :)
