would you try your hardest to find out who it was?
would you consent to your kids go out at night anymore?

This has actually happened to my brother back and to be truthful... I went to the guy who he said took it and gave him a beat down he will never forget. Let's of late say my brother got his phone back and the guy still can't look me within the eyes.
I would ask him everything he knew nearly what happened, including if he knew who did it or what sort of group might have be responsible, and the following morning I'd make a report to the police for theft. I would also contact the high arts school boys' school if I had that much information. I can't see that I'd allow a junior high aged child of mine out at darkness alone anyway, if I'm honest, unless it was to a friend's house or to the cinema and I was dropping him off and picking him up and know exactly what time the film was, or unless there be an adult I knew and trusted present. I don't think I'd enjoy an issue with continuing to let him do that if he behaved responsibly himself, but I would never be letting him a moment ago go off in the evening to any ripened place in the first place.
Answers: I'd ask my kid if they knew who took it
Contact the police, its a theft and undiubtedly my chikld would have be faced with threatening behaiviour in writ for the scum thats confronted him to get the phone.

Being the wife of a police officer the first thing I would do is directory out a report for stolen property. I would have the child who stole the phone arrested and prosicuted.
Whether or not I let the child out at night again would depend on the circumstances of the cell phone getting taken. I would probably not agree to him go where he was or associate beside that particular group.
Also, my 3 year old is in the boxing gym every hours of darkness now so I'm pretty sure that no one will be taking anything from him when he is in junior illustrious.

Yes I would still let my son out at night, but never that behind schedule. 7pm would
be the latest. In the Summer time, depending on what they do is how I will judge how late they can stay out, on bad school days.
The first thing I would do is report it to the phone company, and cancel that phone number so the cronies couldn't use it. Then I would get hold of a detailed list of outgoing numbers from the phone company to see who they called. That could lead up to whom stole the phone! Then after I get that report, I would hand over that to the police for their investigation. Not sure if the police would go any further on this other than making out a report, but I would supply it a good try.
