Parents would you be afraid of her?
Okay I have two wonderful dogs and we have our first child on the way.
Now we enjoy already been told to expect problems with the baby is born.
And someone in truth told us to get rid of one of the dogs but I could never.
Anyways both our dogs love kids:
they are both very good and especially tolerant of children, especially young children.
and my poodle well he loves babies. Whenever we are on a walk and someone next to a baby...he has to get up on his put money on legs and he as to look and stop and sniff. All the neighborhood mommies know him.
Sadly the neighborhood parents shy away from our little Terrier mix. I don't know why she is the most tolerant and loving dog in the world. And she is awesome with children. She has have ears tugged and her tail pulled and she has never even flinched. She has always responded beside love and kisses. She loves to give kisses.
But I have even had friends over beside their children and the request I put my Terrier mix up, like they are afraid of her. She is such a good dog.
I'm not saying the neither dog would ever take action badly, I mean any animal that has teeth can bite. But I trust them, I would never give any dog and a child unsupervised together but I trust them.
Would you be afraid of her?

She is a Terrier/Chihuahua mix (she is about 21 pounds) (Specifically Jack Russell Terrier mix)
Maybe they see something in your dog that you don't see.
Ask them and tell them you want the honest truth. And please don't get upset beside what they say. Just say, "Ok" and figure out a instrument to solve the problem, unless they are protecting your dog from their kid. Many parents know their kids don't handle dogs well.
Some parents are merely over protective, or their child is terrified of dogs for some reason at the moment.
Or maybe they be protecting your dog from their little monsters.
We have a rat terrier mix, I'm more afraid for the dog than our four year old most days.
Answers: Jack Russell terriers are great dogs, but extremely overactive and sometimes don't know when to stop playing. My half sister had one for 2 months earlier she had to get rid of it because it would not leave the girls alone.
no i would keep them, we enjoy a yellow lab that we have went my son be born they are both 12 there was no problem with them when he be a baby, they are the best of friend then and now.
Well, what are people recitation you if you ask them WHY they "shy away from her"? I mean she looks like the kind of dog the children within the day care I work would LOVE to pet! And why on earth should she not be trusted but your poodle? I suggest if you say the dog loves children you will know what you are talking about.
And if I would enjoy friends that ask me to put one of my dogs in a crate while they are there - well, honestly I would ask them to LEAVE my apartment! (My own sister never visit my in 14years due to the fact that I own dogs that would never be put in another room in recent times because someone else is there. And I didn't visited her in 22years because I can't bring the dogs.)
I own two dogs (an Aussie and an Aussie-Ibizan Hound-Mix) and they both shipment about 60lbs. The kids in our day strictness LOVE to pet them and all the parents there are happy that their kids swot up how to behave around dogs with two very loving and well trained ones. So I imagine you should try to find people who don't care how tall your dog is - and 15lbs is SMALL!
And what problems should you expect when the babe-in-arms is there? As long as you make sure that your doggies still get lots of attention I don't see what folks expect to happen! As you wrote yourself you should never let ANY dog - no matter how big or small it is - unsupervised beside kids.
And about your moms poodle: Almost every dog will be bigger than hers. Did any of your dogs ever showed any sign of aggression towards that dog? If not there is no reason why she can't agree to her dog play with yours. If it is not her dog that is aggressive due to lack of socialization, because she is afraid of every other dog and my guess is that she will not allow her dog to interact beside other dogs.
There is no method i'd be weary of her! That seems like such a nice dog, and a intensely cute one by the way.
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!
She is so cute!
I wouldn't be afraid of her if I only just saw her, but if she was hyper I wouldn't let my child near her.
met my dog and you will think your dogs are angels
No those dogs don't attack, I don't know why you listen other people, a short time ago keep both the dogs I have a baby near 2 pit bulls and they haven't caused any problems and I know they are very unpredictable dogs.
I wouldn't get rid of the dogs no matter what anyone says. I reckon it would be good for your new child to learn to love animals at an precipitate age too. Just be careful and remember to give your dogs attention as much as you can so they don't get angry. In the dawn don't let the dogs alone with your baby of late in case they react weirdly. I don't regard as anyone will say no to their child going over your house just because of the dog. If they do then they are track too overprotective.
nope
The thing is, small dogs are far more possible to bite than larger dogs (even so-called violent breeds like Rottweilers, etc), simply because they are much more likely to have a feeling threatened and feel the need to bite. But, with a in good health trained dog, as you seem to be describing, that issue is very rare to hold to deal with. And a responsible parent will keep the child surrounded by line around the dog.
Have you ever considered that the parents are not afraid of the dog attacking their child, but of their child doing something to MAKE the dog react violently? Lots of empire don't want their kids to be around small animals because they simply are not careful enough.
