Do you have a feeling for a while more confident...?

When your child comes to you and says "good job mom/dad" or " you look pretty"...or do you freshly assume that they are saying it because you taught it to them.
I agree with kbc, they are brutally honest. They will ask you why are you fat? I'm a security officer for a ring up center, and the kids at my son's daycare asked me why was I dressed like a man, because I wear a tie, and a blazer, and slacks because it's part of the uniform. Kids voice the darndest things, I guess.
When they tell me i'm a good mom I believe them, and I grain relieved that they think so! I never taught them to say that, so I assume they connote it.
My 6 y/o son tells me that I look beautiful and I know he says it because he hear his dad say the same to me, and is already advising him on how to compliment women haha. Makes it even cuter, even if I don't look particulary elegant at the time ;)
Answers:    I always discern good when my daughter gives me a compliment or congratulates me on something so simple and mundane. It makes me be aware of really good because I know she is saying it from the heart especially when she tells me I look superb. That's a confidence booster any day!
I love when my son says I'm a good mom or that I'm beautiful. I don't know if it in reality makes me feel like I'm doing a right job, but it does make me feel obedient. :-)
