How apt are Land's End backpack?
Are they as good as LL Bean's? I want a backpack for my kids that lasts longer than a year. One's a teenager and one's 11. Any recommendation?

However, for your teenager, I've recently be seeing a lot of reasonably priced (well, around $30-$40) 'Swiss Army' backpacks. I get one myself, and they're definitely designed to be better for your back, they're really durable, and they've got adjectives the pockets and such you need. My brother and i have both had ours for years, and they've both held up to adjectives our college-related abuse pretty well.
Land's End backpacks are perfect but they hold too much stuff. This encourages overstuffing which can cause injuries to your children. They are well made since they are designed for...umm..backpacking within the wilderness, but they aren't really designed to be bookbags. Books are MUCH heavier.
