Is in that a mode to draw from little one to bed in advance?
My daughter is almost 5 months old (19 weeks) and we're having trouble with bed time. Once within a while we can get her to bed at 10 pm, which is OK, but she'll always stretch it out to later and after that. The next night it'll be 11, then 12, and second night it was 2 am (yet again). She always shifts it support. And it seems to have to do with intake. During the day, no matter how much we get up and play, she'll thieve no more than an ounce or two at a time. Then in the evening/night, she'll eat 4 ounces every 2 hours until she's had her 24-26 ounces for the time. I don't know how to get her to eat more during the day so she'll be content to run to bed earlier. What can I do?
try putting her in her cot at a reasonable time read out 7pm? let her cry keep checking on her but leaving it longer and longer respectively time, until she eventually goes to sleep, keep up with this for a few night but just keep stretching the check ins to just a bit longer respectively night, and she will eventually adjust. if she wakes up in the middle of the hours of darkness hungry that's fine but just settle her back to sleep with the bottle. gl it's tricky to leave them but if u don't get it nailed she may finale up not settling into a routine at all...scary
okay. if you think it has to do with food. do you muse she is ready for cereal? you didn't mention giving her cereal so I don't know if you do. if she seams ready (wants to guzzle your food... tries to get a spoon stuff like that) than maybe you should try and endow with her some cereal. rice is usually the first one givin, but my son became constipated from it. the oat one is very nice and tasty. if you contemplate she is ready try that.
also, how much does she nap? you did not mention that. maybe she is taking a powernap to late in the day and is NOT tired at dark. if that is the case, keep her up as long as you can. she might return with a little cranky and crying because she is tired. I wouldn't let my son go down for a sleep anywhere after 5... a 2 hour strech from 3 PM is fine.
hope I helped!
Answers: Ok so I'm going to assume she's on formula because you mentioned a specific amount of ounces. Does she eat regular baby food or rice cereal? Try feed her some cereal before you put her to bed, it might fill her up a little more. Another item you could try (although you didn't mention whether she naps a lot during the day) is to prevent her from taking a late siesta. This way, she'll be tired earlier...maybe grumpier too but she will probably be in motion to bed earlier. And if you can routinely skip the afternoon nap, she should adjust to it and the grumpiness will wear off. Good luck : )
