Dad wishes relief again?
Ok, my sons mother milk has finannly come in, and also we have him on formula at hours of darkness. Since he was born and he came home, before her milk come in, his poop was a dark mash looking. I dont know if its the breast milk, or the formula that is given to him at night only, but he have not pooped. When i change his diaper, its just a little bit within there, i mean barely any. She said the doctor said to be exact normal because of the new breast milk, that he wouldnt poop at all, but he did hold formula last night. what should we do? Please answer the question not lately write to downplay the formula. He is is that good start gental plus by nestle, but that has very soon replaced the nestele good start supreme, which they are the same i was told by burrow. I heard the supreme was bad. We own to get this from wic
The dark blend is called meconium, and is normal for all newborn. I freaked out about my baby girl's poops too, because the doctors say they should own like 4-5 poops a day, and some days she would not poop at all. She be breastfed and bottlefed for the first month. I took her to the doctor, they checked her for dehydration, and everything was fine. I guess sometimes they just don't poop.
Keep an eye on your son, make sure he is not showing signs of dehydration, and as long as he is drinking every 2-3 hours, I would not worry too much.
You can always call your doctor though, to put your mind at rest. Good luck, and congrats on the toddler boy!
The formula takes longer to digest. If you're not seeing ANY mustard yellow, seedy poops at adjectives, talk to the doctor.
My daughter has supplemented with formula since she be 6 days old, and her poop was always a mixture of squalid yellow, and formula greenish-brown.
Good luck, Daddy! Enjoy your new son, and try not too worry TOO much. Probably, everything is only fine. Your son's digestive system is new to this digesting game.
Answers: my daughter did not poop for almost 4 days... Then whoosh it all came at once. I would not verbs too much. If the baby is no distress than there really should not be any concern... If you need to ring up the doctor. I did
The breast milk should help your son go. It is more easily digested, but at this age a breastfed babe should still be pooping several times a day (when they are older they digest it very resourcefully and may not go for several days at a time). You would expect the poop to look yellowish (maybe darker because of the formula) and seedy from the milk curbs
When they are vastly young, there isn't always profusely you can do for constipation. Two things that might help are massaging his tummy in a clockwise demeanour and bicycling his legs. One thing you can do for gas that can also help in this bag is to scoop down on his tummy with the side of your hands for a few second, and then plunge the knees gently but firmly into his stomach. All those things are designed to get gas and poop moving down.
Another piece people sometimes do is to take babies temperature rectally. Its open-handed of like invoking Murphy's law, I think, lone using it to your advantage :P
For older babies, it can help to make available additional fluids (water). However, at this age its really easy for a baby to return with too _much_ water. So I probalby wouldn't give him water. Nursing more will also provide extra fluids to him, so that may be something to try.
If your son's poop comes out rugged and pellet like, then he is constipated and at this age you will probably want to call a dr more or less it. I would also probably call his dr if he doesn't poop at all again today.
The only point your newborn needs is breast milk. Formula is just too hard to digest contained by their little digestive systems. The pasty poop is normal, it's all the digested food that was within his system before he was born. He's not constipated and it will all work through his system contained by time. Start the formula at a later date and let the baby win the best food for him, mother's milk. Source(s): www.newmommyteesandjeans.com
