9month feeble BF full time again?
My baby just tuned 9 months, and is very much chirpy being breastfeed. I try and get him to eat solids, which ends up man just things he can do himself, such like whole wheat breads or banana pieces (avocado, squash,, etc..). He dislikes human being feed with spoon! So we are back close to a almost every 2-3 hour BF feedings because he is in a minute more hungry. I am not sure what to do. I don't want to push solids on him if he does not want them yet, but as for my sanity i feel close to it is way to often BF. So other BF mommies got any guidance?
He really needs to be drinking solids. You shouldnt have to BF every 2-3 hours at his age. A baby wont starve, he will eventually get hungry satisfactory and eat whatever you give him.
Give him more self-feed foods or you can distract him by giving him one spoon to hold while you nurture him with another. He's breastfeeding more often because he really is needing more food. Another devout way to distract is use teamwork; have one entity talk to him while the other feeds him. I've fed lots of babies I've nannied resembling this... all babies do the independence thing to a positive degree but with a bit of trickiness, you can get food into them.
If he'll eat things he can self-feed why not just proffer him a larger variety of table foods? If he doesn't eat them, okay, but he may. Try to interest him more.
Seth, babies are not less than human. Do you devour when you're hungry? I'm sure you do, why should a baby be denied that same basic right just because he requirements help doing it?
LOL, seth, READ A PARENTING BOOK!
babies around 9 months old are ready to self nurture. they don't need to eat off a spoon if they prefer to self nurture. try chunks of cheese, steamed vegetables and fruits, cheerios, pasta, tofu chunks, etc. if he won't take more solids by self feeding, it is probably just a phase, approaching ethel said. it's okay that he's mostly breast feeding too -- babies main nutrition should be breast milk until they're about a year out-of-date...food is just practice.

Baby self-feeds EVERYTHING.
I tried spoon-feeding my son only to find that he gets impressively frustrated when I try to do it.

Or he could be teething...my son is nursing every 2-3 hours lately because he's cutting teeth.
How is she spoiling him? By being a mother??
Oh good lord. You've be Ezzo'd.
Babies should be fed on demand.
By the way, he doesn't NEED to be on solids right in a minute if he's just not interested.

Solids are just extra. Breast milk should still be his main source of nutrition.
He could be teething or he could be coming down with something. Don't worry, it's transient - after he gets over whatever is happening he'll be pay for to eating different foods while perhaps it won't be mush.
My son was the same way around 8 months. He one and only wanted to feed himself.. so I prepared foods for him to feed himself! Steam some veggies, afford him a whole peach to munch on.. make everything finger foods! Steam an apple and cut it into small chunks he can handle to some extent than giving apple sauce. One thing that worked well for my son was meatloaf.. I engender a juicy meatloaf and he'd gobble it up! Keep nursing as often as he likes... but try to gross sure you offer him enough food that is smoothly eaten as well. If he's anything like my son this is for apposite! One thing that helps when I want him to have something he wants a spoon for is to give him a spoon for each hand to hold. It make him happy and he'll accept my spoon more easily.. especially when it beep for his mouth to open, lol. We don't do it often cause in that is no need for it.. but if we're having a stew or something that I'd like him to try it works.
EDIT: At 9 months by son ate 3 meal a day and nursed every 3-4 hours.
Seth, hon, she asked for BF moms next to advice.
Just keep up on the baby lead weaning. You're doing great!
You requirement to push the solids, only because he knows the breast is easier. He's old ample now to be feeding himself (with his hands of course) but why not start out next to a spoon and let him finish with his hands. And when he's hungry, be in motion to the solids before you go to the breast. Let him fill up on food first, and after offer the breast if he's still hungry.
