Newborn skull is an remarkable shape, am curious as too why?
Hi, I have 2 friends with children both whom have miss shaped skulls. Nothing gross merely different and Im curious if this is a medical issue or just luck of the draw.
First child is now 10 months old, feminine and 2nd child. Natural birth and pregnancy with no complications. The infant has a flattened skull on the back right side from central part almost to her ear. Normal development for her age and is a beautiful little girl.
2nd child is a 4 week old boy near a lump shape in the top left hand side of his skull, again zilch to make anyone stop and stare but is visible and more so when you stroke his head. Baby is fighting fit and the mother had no problems during her pregnancy or delivery.
Neither parent seems worried nearly their child and Im not either just curious as to what could have cause this or if, in the case of the male child, it will resolve itself.

As a newly born child (under the age of 1), their skulls are small plates near mainly cartilage, as they get older the "mishaped" head should be able to go away. Its ok, nothing to verbs about since they are both healthy. XD
The most common reason why an infant's guide is misshapen has to do with the position they are sleeping in (if they are other one way or another it shapes the head because a baby's skull is very malleable). Also infant's skulls are exceptionally soft because they need to expand and grow so they are easily formed by laying confident ways etc. My guess is that both the baby's will naturally grow out of this problem when their skulls fuse and they are older.
follow up next to the pediatrician -it may be normal.
Sound like she lays them on one side every time. Happens to adjectives babies if you don't switch sides it will probably go away when they get older.
Answers: The elder one sounds as if she has a flat spot on her head. Which is probably resolving now that she is 10 months of age it will find better with time..The 4 week old is due to the babies head ratification through the birth canal the plates in its head shifted to fit out..again next to time it should be normal.
