This might be a stupid cross-question roughly toddler formula but...?
So here's what I want to know..my son is a year old (today in fact). He has one can of formula gone and then he will be drinking cow's milk. He drank Similac Advance since birth. What I want to know is: is it ok to give him the toddler formula just once contained by awhile. Like when we will be out all day and it isn't convenient to carry around milk? Also, Enfamil sent me a free can..is it going to hurt his stomach giving him a different brand or is it adjectives basically the same? Sorry if this is dumb..sometimes I feel completely clueless. lol
For what it's worth, it would be much more convenient to carry around just water for him to drink while you're out, or some shelf stable milk that doesn't require refrigeration. Yes, he requests to drink something during the day, but milk is just a drink, and he could easily drink river and be just fine. Really, if Dad has never had to verbs about measuring and mixing and all of that fun stuff near formula, it would be much more convenient for him to give your son some water in a sippy cup, or a "liquid box" carton of shelf stable milk.
Yeah I wouldn't convey around milk either. Maybe one bottle at most, depending on how long you will be out. Buy anyways, try your best not to switch to Enfamil because that will most likely make him hold belly pains. You can start cows milk now as you know, and try to limit the formula to your toddler, cows milk is now what is better for him, apparently, considering this is when they start to drink it. But, finishing your last can off is fine, but if I were you I wouldn't verbs to buy formula.

His system is mature enough by now to distribute him any formula...and if you wish there's no problem in giving him formula while on the go. I found that the milks that didn't inevitability to be refrigerated worked great, though. A lot of organic brands sell them contained by individual sizes. I'd just take one out of the fridge for my daughter, and if it didn't stay very cold, it be still fine to drink.
"Like when we will be out all day and it isn't convenient to carry around milk?"
?
He's not a babe -- you don't need to carry bottles of milk around. He can have like peas in a pod stuff you eat and drink when on the go, and if he's really wanting milk, you can buy a carton and stick a straw in it. Don't spend your money on 'toddler formula.'
The brand is meaningless as far as his stomach is concerned, though. But 'toddler formula' is a lot of unnecessary sugar and junk -- I would throw it out. Have you tasted it? It's certainly foul; I would never give it to my kid.
Well it's definitely not going to hurt his stomach. When Target changed their labels my husband accidentally come home with a can of toddler formula. My son was around 11 months old and I be just about to move him to whole milk anyway, so I used some of that can for the finishing few weeks. No big deal, at least for my kid.
Once they start drinking milk they don't "need" it in the bearing that they need formula. And it's important that it not replace food. There's no need to convey bottles of milk around. They just need to average a certain amount of dairy, they don't "need" a abiding number of ounces. It is hard to get out of this mind-set after a year of formula-feeding, I know, but milk is just a beverage immediately. A healthy, important beverage, but not something to carry around specially.
If your child get less milk one day, it's just not a big settlement. Give him some yogurt or cheese for a snack later.
Toddler formula? Really? I suppose you could give him the formula you have left so your not wasting but cows milk is adjectives he needs after that with his meals and contained by between. He should be getting most of his nutrients from solid foods by then to where he would only necessitate milk in a cup with his meal and as a snack within between. He is not a baby- he is a toddler.
Formula doesn't suddenly become bad for a baby on his first birthday. (In certainty, it could be argued that it's BETTER for a toddler than for an infant since it's no longer replacing breastmilk as the basis of the diet.)
Formula contains healthy nutrients, and, especially if the child is a poor eater, (as many toddlers are) it can be beneficial to keep hold of him on formula for a while longer.
Toddler formula is pointless...there is really no need for it.
That said, it won't hurt him. Go ahead and use up the free sample can, but I wouldn't buy any more.
You don't necessitate to give him milk when out and about. Milk is now a beverage, not a feast. He can have juice or water.
Horizon life milk makes single serve milks that don't need to be refrigerated so you don't have need of to worry about keeping it cold.
Answers: My son have formula till he was 18 mths, so yes, it's perfectly fine for your son to have formula. They do follow on milk for toddlers that's more suited to a toddlers requests, you could switch him to that. I used Enfamil Next Step, and the follow on formula's are much better for your toddler than cows milk! Most follow on formulas can be used regularly up to the age of 3.
At the age of 1 year, he'll probably be fine taking a different brand. I had to switch my son at 14 months because we moved from the US to the UK, they don't do Enfamil over here, and he had no problems. Just give him a small cup and examine him for allergies or reactions for the first 3-4 days, if he does seem to have an upset stomach, stop using it. Basically, adjectives brands are very similar, most likely, the only rationale your little one is on Similac is because that's what they recommended at the hospital he was born in, like Enfamil be what was offered to me at the hospital my son was born in.
We adjectives feel clueless at times! Better to ask a dumb question than to sit in silence and never know! Happy birthday to your little boy too!
since he is one year old it really shouldn't be that much of a problem. just try and see what happen. it won't kill him =]
Yes it is ok. Nothing bad would transpire to him. Self experience same thing happened to me when my daughter turned 1 she had formula gone and I gave it to her,
