To adjectives you cloth diapering mommies out in attendance...?

My daughter just turned a year old this month and I was wondering in the region of switching to cloth diapers. We have had a lot of problems near disposable diapers leaking here recently and I have not figure out why, we have tried 3 different kinds that once worked well. I do not enjoy a clue about cloth diapers. I was hoping some of you moms would help me out beside some good kinds of cloth diapers or some good websites. is a year outdated too old to cloth diaper? Does it cost a lot of money? What all do I involve to buy? thanks
Upfront, yes it costs a lot of money, but I'm a firm believer that in the long run, it save you money.

As for what type you want to buy, it really depends. There are sooo many kinds of diapers out there. Go to http://www.diaperpin.com or http://www.diaperjungle.com , those are obedient places to start to read reviews on diapers and find out what different kinds of diapers there are.

I personally use GMD prefolds near a Thirsties Cover.

ETA - TX Mom, you obviously have no idea what you are conversation about. My cloth diapers have NEVER leaked, my son is highly comfortable and is happy 95% of the time.
Diapers.com has cloth diapers. They even explain more about cloth diapering. My wife clicked on a facebook ad and found this website: http://www.PrintablePampersCoupons.blogs…
This site have coupon codes for pampers, huggies, and cloth diapers. and it teaches you how to get diapers, formula, and other little one products all free.
The instructions say to go to diapers.com and create a 1 time purchase on diapers using the promo code: drop10 . That will be your last time paying for diapers. Then you will receive your own promo code that when you share it with others you get credits added to your rationalization on diapers.com (which has many baby products contained by addition to diapers). For every time people place an order that you referred, you will verbs to receive cash added to your account. Then you can just sit pay for and watch your money grow! It's so cool. They explain it better at their site. Source(s): http://www.printablepamperscoupons.blogs…
As stated, it costs a lot up front, but you set free in the long run. You really only need the diapers (covers if you use prefolds). If you plan on another newborn in the future I would buy one-size all surrounded by ones or pocket diapers. They cost more, but they'll fit from 6lbs to 35lbs and are useful for multiple children. Laundry isn't that bad and your baby will potty train quicker using cloth. I've never have my cloth diapers leak, ever.

i think the change to a cloth things will help to gradually move her into panties. but besides that, though cloth diapers can be expensive; there are services where on earth they will deliver clean clothes and take your old ones to verbs. a friend of mine actually looked into this and it was cheaper than buying the disposable diapers, however she looked into this for a newborn, when diapers must be changed several more times.
Answers:    Edit: I'm so sorry! A bunch of my links were broken. I just fixed them. My impossible!

Here's some of my hints and tips for cloth diapering. I've been cloth diapering for about 3 years, and I'm currently CDing two kids.

Cloth diapering costs more up front, but for most people, it's bearing cheaper over time. We've saved thousands of dollars CDing over the years. I've never had issues with leak, and my boys are very happy in cloth.

1. Get a few different kind of diapers and try them all out so you can decide what kind works best for you. Check out this site. They own a trial package that you can try for 21 days for a deposit, and if you send them back, they make a contribution you your deposit back: http://www.jilliansdrawers.com/products/…

2. Get a diaper sprayer, like this one: http://www.amazon.com/bumGenius-89007700…
It will make cleaning up poop so much easier for you. All you do is plop the poop contained by the toilet, and spray off the residue - no dunking in the toilet.

3. Baking soda, vinegar, and tea tree oil are your friends when you're cloth diapering. I use baking soda contained by the wash, and I use vinegar with a few drops of tea tree oil surrounded by the rinse. They keep my diapers stain and odor free. I also use tea tree oil in the container to keep it from smelling.

4. You only need a amazingly tiny bit of detergent. I use All Free and Clear. Only about a tablespoon is needed for one load - even less if you own a high efficiency front loader. Using too much detergent will cause build up contained by your diapers, and they'll start to repel urine and leak. You can ruin your diapers this way. Trust me, you don't need particularly much detergent *at all*. This chart is very helpful in finding a correct detergent for your cloth diapers: http://www.diaperjungle.com/detergent-ch…

5. You can buy biodegradable, flushable diaper liners to make poop clean ups even easier. You can find these here: http://www.jilliansdrawers.com/products/… I, instinctively, don't use liners, but if you want to cut costs while saving yourself a little mess, you can try these.

Also, check out these sites for more information and answer to your question. Good luck!

Lots of good reviews here: http://www.diaperpin.com/home.asp

ETA: I forgot to mention what kind of diapers I use.

For my 14 month old, I use bumGenius 3.0 one size, Fuzzibunz (the old style), and occasionally, unbleached prefolds next to a Thirsties cover.

When he was a newborn, we used bleached prefolds with Dappi covers. I got them contained by this kit: http://www.cottonbabies.com/product_info… The kit comes with 12 prefolds, 4 Dappies, 2 Snappies to hold tightly the prefolds, and 1 bumGenius 3.0 to use at nighttime. The covers work surprisingly well for the price, and the kit is enough to cloth diaper a newborn for about a day, maybe longer if they're elder. For the price, it's a really good kit, in my evaluation. It's a really good way to start out if you're on a really tight budget.

For my 3 year old (he's not potty trained however because of some developmental delays), I use unbleached prefolds with Thirsties covers. I've used other diapers on him in the past, but he grew out of them, and these are the best fit for him in a minute that he's bigger.
It will cost a lot to get started, your babe-in-arms won't like them, and if you think disposables leaked--you can expect your baby to be damp and angry 80% of the time. Your extra laundry will explode, and, are you planning to push the little gooshy goosh out of that cloth diaper? Good, because I'm not into that kind of thing. Buy disposable diapers for girls her weight, not age.
