My 6 month matured is biting me while nursing...HELP!?
He has bitten me a few times before, which I usually put my finger in his mouth and run out the nursing session, however nothing is helping. I know my poor baby is teething but man it hurts. Today he actually bit me concrete enough and drew blood. I fed him right before putting him to bed on the disparate breast and pumped my "injured" breast to keep from getting engorged. The milk was gross and I had to throw it out because I continued to bleed fairly a bit. In the process it also looked like a blood clot came out from the bite site. My question is do I permit it heal or keep pumping as I do not plan to give up so in haste on nursing but don't plan to have him feed from that side at this time. Is there anything I can put on it to facilitate the cut heal faster. I just feel that every time I pump roughly 4-5 hours I will just re-open the cut. I called the advice nurse and she newly told me to keep on feeding no matter what, don't estimate she's been bitten lately lol. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
stop breast feeding?? Pump it.
I suggest that you just pump. I haven't be bitten before. I always had to stop after 4 months only just because of my job. I started pumping for a while but then just give in and put them on formula. but if you don't want to put him on formula definitely just pump.
Answers: Gosh Im sorry thats happening to you. My 6 month old tried that but I firmly said no and took him past its sell-by date the breast and he hasnt tried it since. He doesnt have his teeth yet so it might happen again really soon. The highlands teething tablets are a go saver for us right now. Try letting him chew on a pacifier or on your finger before you nurse? That might agree to him get it out of his system before you put him on the breast?
I wouldnt worry around the cut. Your body has its own way of healing itself. You might try mitt expressing until it heals most of the way. I had to do that for my lil guys cereal one morning. I couldnt find my pump because we have it packed in our luggage and it was alot easier than i thought it would be. lol
My lil guys starting to apprehend the word no so try changing your tone with him next time he bites and tender him a teether instead. You cant help but feel sorry for them when their gums are hurting but then again your within pain too from him biting. Good Luck and I hope you can figure out what to do.
Why dont you just bottle nurture him get a breast pump and bottle it up.
