Parents near down syndrome infant... PLEASE READ...?
do you plan to care for your child forever? when they are 20 or 30 years old and running around the house like a child would you still be satisfied? when you are too told to care for it what will your plans be then? pass it on to a relative?
or will you disown the child once you realize what a burden it is? like when he's in his high teens? would you pass him to a organization like many mothers do?
There is no "giving" to an organization. I worked contained by an assisted living facility for many years and some of my favorite patients were the ones with down syndrome. It be a way for them to have a little nouns away from their parents, and yet have the security of someone beside them 24/7 helping them with meds, cooking, laundry, etc. If I had a child with down syndrome I would consider an assisted living facility when he/she be in early adulthood. It be a wonderful, loving arrangement for our patients and their family's who visited all the time.
I don't have a DS baby, but IF I did, I would caution for her as long as I could. Or needed to. I will and would never disown my daughter. I gave birth to her, and I will help her as long as I am her mother.

I will always be happy. I love him more than anything.
And when hes elder, he will move out, live a normal life. Hes 15, and as a job, and girlfriend.
And he is not an it.

Why are you so biased against folks with DS? There are other Neuro disorders and handicaps that are "worse" you know!
