How long did you dawdle til you go out near your child?
Like shopping, grocery shopping, errands, etc.
I don't want to expose them like a week after they're born but I don't want to wait a couple of months either!
the day after i took him home from the hospital...lol. its not like he have to be quarantined. baby will be fine, just dont let nation touch all over him.
EDIT: we went out to eat beside the inlaws. i will admit i didnt have much fun, i was within pain because i had 4 tears and and episiotomy and some A HOLE lit up a cigarette next to my little one in a NO SMOKING restaraunt! freaking D.A.
I week is to soon, besides honestly what new mother out in attendance really wants to be out and about that early after have a baby, feeling like crap and looking the part of the pack for that matter.I say at least a month, kid is on a better schedule, mom is in better control of knoing what's she's doing, and a little rested.
I waited a couple weeks beside my son before taking him out properly, but he was born in winter, so it be colder, for my daughter (who is about 3 weeks) she's been out and about already, after roughly 2 weeks and in that time I took her out in the garden lots when it's sunny :)
i had my bub on friday, go home on the saturday, went to visit his greatgrandma in the nursing home on sunday, go grocery shopping on the tuesday (i did go at night so his daddy could come iwth us and help lol) go back to the hospital on the wednesday to visit his new babe-in-arms cousin (they were born 5 days apart!)
Yeah ... you'll go crazy if you try to stay at home!!
I went out beside my son when he was 2 days old. I just kept him within his wrap.
I took my son out with me the 2nd daylight we were home from the hospital. Some people in the isle or organization would ask how old he was and when they found out he was below a week old they couldn't believe it. I mean how do you expect to get things done, I be not going to drop him off my paren'ts house and his dad had to come along to help get the car seat, heavy items and drive because I be told strictly by the doctor not to do those myself. We kept him with us at all times and asked those who wanted to see him to cleanse their hand first (we had hand sanitizer at all times near us). He's 13weeks today and doing just fine.
um we stopped at babies r us on our way home from the hospital to acquire a swaddle wrap, then to the grocery store to get dinner... but this was babe #2. just use common sense, avoid congested areas and dont let relations touch your baby.
when she was 4 days old..I took her to her Ped for a check up..I asked him when should be a polite time to take her to visit friends and family..he said it be my baby i could take her where or when i want..as long if race was not sick around her...I took her to see some of my co workers.on the way home
If your tot is healthy It is absolutely fine to take your little one out. If you are worried about germs, the hospital is probably one of the worst places so he/she has already been exposed to that. Babies positively love the outdoors and fresh air, provided you protect them from the weather ie: snugly wrapped if cool and out of the breeze or in the shade when sunny.
Right after her 2 week checkup. If you keep them out of the world for too long they will catch every germ out near. Just don't let people touch or hold and you will be fine. GOD BLESS!
Answers: I took my son out to grasp some grocery's or just to walk around walmart after I felt better but it would with the sole purpose be for maybe 30 minutes and I made sure he was covered so no one could touch him and I sanatized the shopping cart and I always had a thing of GERMx beside me incase I needed to touch him or his binkie or something! and I did that for at least the first month just to get out and capture a little break from home when I was bored. And then onto the 2nd month I disappeared him uncovered but still made sure NO one came up and stuck their finger in his mouth or touched his face.. its amazing what strangers will do.. lol anyway honey! Good luck and I penny-pinching as long as your careful and keep it safe and verbs and not for to long I dont think its a big deal.
