Has anyone given their 9 + month ancient infant formula after singular breastmilk?

Just curious to see if anyone's baby actually took it after never having formula?

I own been told not to supplement with formula since Sophie is so old, she won't similar to it. I've been told to supplement with whole milk (the MD give the ok to give her 4-5 oz a day of whole milk). She hasn't gain a single pound in two months and won't nurse more often then almost 4 times a day. She has 3 meals and an occasional snack. She LOVES her sippy cup beside breast milk(what itty little bit I can pump out, usually 1-2 oz max) or with whole milk in it.

What are your thoughts?
girl you did 9 months, dont worry about it! try formula and if she will drink it, it wont hurt. but i doubt she will, its not sweet like breast milk.

simply do what the doc says
Do part breast part whole mixed surrounded by a sippy cup at first and gradually switch to whole. You can also give her hose.
You could mix what breast milk you pump near formula and see if she will take it. I wouldn't worry if you have to travel exclusively to formula. You nursed her for 9 months and she is slowly self-weaning it seems like. My son is almost 6 months and the doctor said to try giving formula so that he will not have a chew aversion to it if I stop nursing. I tried it once but he HATED it. Even worse then when I gave him peas for the first time. Maybe if you slowly decrease the amount of breastmilk you impart her with the formula, she will slowly go to formula.
With my daughter, my breastmilk supply decreased around 7 months and she go to formula with no problem.
I would feel more comfortable giving whole milk at 12+ months. When she nurses, does she quality pretty full? Honestly, you don't have to supplement with formula. 9 months is a good amount of time. What you can do is I don`t know try to mix some formula (the later stages) with the breastmilk. A baby can do greatly on formula until 2 years. We use the Good Start 2 for babies 9 - 12 months weak. But of course, regular milk is cheaper. It's just I think she's a bit too infantile for the regular milk. Anyway, in the end, it's your call hun.
Answers:    My thoughts are still you should hold on to nursing as much as possible because she'll probably come around.

I have another thought that weight charts are based on formula feed babies, and my healthy baby is 5% for her weight by the majority chart.

My final thought is that it's not going to hurt to mix a little whole milk in next to some expressed milk, but just keep nursing as much as possible because she'll probably come around. I would make the cow's milk a finishing resort.
My baby had a bit formula the first 2 weeks, but only breastmilk after that (we had trouble establishing nursing, so I pumped like crazy and get the supply up). At around 9 and a half months, my supply started declining, so I asked our doctor about formula, since our daughter is a incredibly light eater and is 10th percentile weight (but 95th height!). The doctor even give us a few samples of different brands so we wouldn't have to buy giant containers that we wouldn't use. We did eventually settle on a formula that she would take, but solitary if we added a TINY bit of Nesquick. I just wanted the formula as a stopgap before introducing cow's milk. . . . but it turns out that she dislikes cow's milk, too!

So in a minute, at 13 months, we are still doing formula (I let my milk supply dwindle after 12 months, since exclusive pumping for over a year was really starting to wear on me). BUT it is only just this minute that she will take the formula "no questions asked." I think it's complex for some babies to go to formula after nothing but milk for so long.

I think if Sophie will drink cow's milk minus difficulty, then you shouldn't worry. If you are worried about vitamins or iron (unlike human milk, cows milk have negligible iron), there are always supplements. If your daughter eat iron fortified foods, however, that probably isn't a concern.

Good luck. Source(s): Personal experience
