Baby can't pull guide at almost 4 months ...?
my LO is almost 4 months old, and i'd like to think he have good head control but i'm afraid i'm in denial. i read aloud this because when i'm holding him in my arms, he can hold his head up generally very well, and even looks around and turns his head, with ease for the most quantity. he has his floppy moments, which i think should be expected while he's still little.
the real problem is that when i put him on his tummy, he literally make NO effort to lift his head up within any way, almost every single time. at his 2 month well checkup, the dr. noted that he didn't have as suitable head control as she'd like to see in a babe-in-arms his age, and warned that if by 4 months he made no progress then he'd probably need physical psychiatric therapy. this scares me because that's in like 2 weeks! i'd approaching to believe he has made the necessary progress but i'm not so sure. i mean, at this age he should be capable of at least lift his head up somewhat while on his tummy on the floor, right? ..
when i put him on his tummy and catch sight of him not even attempting to look up, sometimes i'll put a folded up recieving blanket under his chest and this helps somewhat. and i try to keep his arms flat on the floor to stir up him to use them, but it's like he doesn't associate his arms w/ lifting up and has no interest in it. i supply him tummy time pretty frequently, i dunno what's holding him back. i know everyone says that "ohh babies reach milestones at their own pace", but this can't be conventional. i'm wondering if any mommies out there had something similar happen w/ their LO and can perchance offer some advice? . it would be greatly appreciated, thanks! :)
idk.my nephew is 3 months and he can hold his head up just fine when hes on his belly... he even pushes himself up and roles over.. so i show it does kinda seem odd that hes not already doing it.
Each baby meets his/her personal milestones at different times. At 4 months my daughter had her collar held firm but she was not able to life her manager up as you mention. Now at 6 mnths she doe sall that and more. So dont worry. Give the little angel some time :)
I recommend getting a Boppy nursing pillow. I put mine on the floor beside a soft blanket over it and prop my son up with his arms kinda hanging over the front of the Boppy. I can't upload pics at work, or I would show you what I mean, but I'll try to find something online.

This is definitely something that wishes to be brought up with your doctor. I wouldn't panic, but it could be a sign that some screening needs to be done to rule out physical and/or developmental problems.
Since he doesn't even appear to be trying, I'd utter that's a reason to pursue a more professional opinion. It may be nothing, but it does turn out to be something, it's best to detect it straight away! Good luck. Source(s): Mum of 2
Answers: My son be the same way, he barely ever get tummy time because he would just bury his head in the hearth rug and cry. And he didn't do anything with his arms either, he just wasn't have it. Well that changed real quick, at about 6 1/2 - 7 months he in a minute crawls and pulls himself up onto everything, even cruises the furniture. I was worried for a little while as well, but it be like within a matter of a week he cultured what to do. :)
Honestly I dont think its anything serious, as though I say to everyone I am no doctor! But next to me son I would lay him on his tummy and he would just lay there and make no energy to even try then he would start screaming and stuff his face into the floor and the doctor to me to LEAVE HIM ON HIS STOMACH even when he is crying but I figured if he isnt even lifting his leader theres no point in makin him lay there and cry and possibly suffocate himself and then eventually he academic to roll over a little after 4 months and now wont stay off his stomach and his pave the way control is MUCH better!
