Question for co-sleeping parents?
Do you have a crib? Do you use it often?
The reason why I am asking is because we do enjoy one, we have a cute nursery all decorated that really doesn't ever return with used. My husband jokes, how the crib was a waste of money because she ends up contained by our bed anyways. And we have a pack n play next to our bed. She takes a few nap in her crib, but really I wouldn't even notice if we didn't have it.
So for co-sleepers, Do you enjoy a crib, and do you really use it?
(This is not a debate about co-sleeping, you have your opinions and I enjoy mine, thanks).
My son is 3 and doesn't always want to sleep with us! The crib I never used with him as an infant turned into a toddler bed so that wasn't an entire consume. But he mostly still sleeps with me.We bought another crib when my daugter was born and use it as an extention of our bed.
We had a crib and a nursery, but sold the crib around her first birthday. She slept in it only a handful of times, and co-slept (still does) the rest of the time. Her "nursery" be really a room crammed full of toys. We're expecting #2, and baby will have neither a crib/bed nor it's own room until we move again, around the time baby is 2 or 3.
I think co-sleeping is a unpromising idea, babies HAVE died from suffocation, and not just in cases where on earth the partent is obese etc etc, but even in some cases babies have been suffocated by elder siblings while in the same bed, if a child can do that to a baby afterwards obviously so can a parent, I'd never put my kids at that risk.
Convenience should NEVER come before a childs safety.
both of my daughters co slept. (they are in a minute age three and age one) we had a nursery set up both times. we said the same thing in the order of the crib that your husband said. it was a waste. we put the baby surrounded by the middle. they would take a nap on a pallet or on the couch. once they turned a year old we put them within a toddler bed and before my oldest turned two she was in a twin size bed. the correction from mom and dads room to their own room was easier than expected.
when my daughter was first born, she slept with me and daddy until she was roughly speaking 6 months, i breastfeed her so she still does sleep with me half of the night sometimes, but cribs are great to own, hers is right next to my bed, like RIGHT there lol..no space between hah..so when she wake up at 3 am, i can get her out and put her in my bed...i just find it more secure for my baby to sleep with me, until she was a bit older..so i could keep an eye on her and monitor her every move..i did have a bassinet but never used it...=]but yes cribs are fitting in the long run because when you put them down for naps, you wont have to verbs about them crawling out when they are old enough to, my daughter is 9 months and thats the individual place she sleeps for naps,
My 6 month old doesn't enjoy a crib but he sleeps in an arm's reach co-sleeper. He will sleep in bed on incident but it's not all the time like it used to be.
My twins didn't use their cribs properly until almost a year old. Before that they be used as sidecar co-sleepers.
Yes i enjoy a crib and yes i co-sleep my son will take his naps during the day contained by i put him to bed at 830pm by 12am hes in bed with me but i didn't start co-sleeping until my son was 4 months elderly he slept fine until then and now ive tried and tried to get him to stay within his bed and i just give in to him its concrete not to when your up with your baby crying and as soon as you put them in your bed they are right to sleep!
It is not necessary or you are not indebted to place your baby always in a crib. If you hold one then that is of great help; for instance you are doing something major and you don't have anyone to carry him or her, crib is the best option afterwards.
Answers: Yes, we have a crib in another bed room (It's a guest room/nursery...all decked.) We also have a pack n play right next to my side of the bed. Lol, he's probably slept a total of 10 hours in that since he come home (he's over 3 months now!) And the crib...forget it, I don't even have a mattress yet, as we don't see him sleeping surrounded by that room alone any time soon. This child won't even take naps unless he is being held or contained by his swing. Dare to put him down and you shall feel his wrath! Lol!

I have a crib. It's all set up, and we've never used it. My daughter is 7 months ancient now.
I did use the crib with my son (age 4, now) when he was younger, because I be living with my parents, and I had a tiny single bed, but he still wound up in beside me most nights, anyway.
:)
We don't really have a nursery, either. We live within an apartment, so... we'd just have to paint over it when we move out. When we get a house, consequently I can go nuts and paint my kids' rooms.
The crib I got from my mom. My son has an uncle who is of late 4 years older than him. So, I didn't waste any money on the crib.
With my daughter we had a crib and used it more after her first birthday as kind of an extention of our bed. We never bought a crib for our son a moment ago a pack n play which was a waste of money anyway he sleeps with us and have used the pack n play maybe 3 times for 15 minutes at a time. For my kids all of that stuff was a huge leftovers. Source(s): Mommy to almost 3 year old lizzi and 5 month old liam
I would try to achieve baby to use the crib. Co-sleeping can actually be dangerous.
