Anyone form their own slings?
I really like "wearing" my 11 month old son. But my carrier (similar to a Bjorn) is really bloodshed my back. He is about 19 lbs. I was looking at Ergo, Peanut Shell, K'Tan, etc...but they are adjectives SOO expensive! I would like to do the hip-carry, I think that would help distribute the freight a little better. What did you all use for carrying a child his size?
He is 11 months old, 19lb, (kind of a small guy).
Also, if you made your own Ring Sling, be it easy? I am sewing-challenged, and really am not good at it, but the directions seem open-handed of simple...
im plus size so i used one of my old thongs as a sling and it works great.
Get a moby wrap, it will take you (err your little one) well through the tot years, it can be used so many ways and only costs just about $40.
Answers: I didn't make my own... I bought a ring sling. It is really easy to use for the hip-carry position. http://kangarookidsonline.com/catalog/3/…
I also ordered a "fake" moby wrap from a seller on ebay. It be homemade, and it looks really easy to make. It is very comfortable and doesn't hurt my wager on. Real thing (expensive): http://www.mobywrap.com/ How to make a fake one: http://www.wearyourbaby.com/Default.aspx…
My husband uses an Ergo Baby mover. He really likes it, and it doesn't hurt his back, but I don't believe that you can hip-carry with it. http://www.ergobabycarrier.com/
