Why doesn't my child sleep throughout the dark?

Read Healthy Sleep Habits, Healthy Child by Marc Weissbluth...do what it say CONSISTENTLY...your child will sleep like a baby :) The most important piece you can do is be consistent!
Maybe you stayed up all night while you be pregnant with her and she got used to it while being surrounded by your womb. You should try to keep her busy during the day (avoid naps) and don't put her to bed too early if she's not tired because she will wake up up in a couple of hours. So try to put her to bed at 8-9 o'clock if she's active.

Another thing is perchance the food you are feeding her give her a lot of get-up-and-go. Try not to feed her right before bed and if you do try warm milk.
Some just DONT do it! My daughter has slept through the night since she be 1 month. She only takes one nap during the afternoon and then she falls asleep usually while in the car, but i'm sure if she slept greatly that she would stay up all night. Also it depends on how much they eat. When she wake up is she wanting to play and just be awake or is she wanting to eat. Cause you have to different problems...If she is hungry conceivably try moving her to oatmeal so she stays full longer and won't wake up to eat. If she just requests to play then you need to be strong and let her cry. She will drop back asleep, I know it will be hard but she has academic that you will come and get her from there when she fusses or makes noices. My daughter coos sometimes surrounded by the middle of the night but doesn't cry and we just let her stay surrounded by there and she falls back asleep really quick. They own to be on a schedule. If she takes lots of naps through out the year she might still have her days and nights confused...Good luck! I know it's hard to hear them crying, but it's the individual way to really fix it.
Have you tried co-sleeping? Some moms are totally against it, but it really helped my son be comfortable to sleep, then we slowly went to putting him contained by his crib.
