Have you be told it is ok to dispense your infant cows milk until that time 1 year prehistoric?

our pediatrician told me that my daughter can have cows milk at 10 months. before i do start giving it to her, i want to see if anyone else has be told this, and if anyone has done this? i am also probably gonna get a second opinion, im a moment ago asking here cuz you all have kids.
I was told absolutely not before one year. A babe under one year should be on breast milk or formula until they are one year and then you can start introducing cows milk.
I own done specialized courses with pediatricians in my child care studies and they said you should dawdle until your child is 12 months before you give them cows milk. but i would listen to my pediatrician if he said it was okay at 10 months as it is close to 12months and he would own assesed that your child is okay to have it.

i actually don't know why it is 12 months that you have to dawdle to give them cows milk, but really it is only a suggested age, and your child may be ready physically presently at 10 months.

good luck : )
The doctor told me that giving it to them before the are 1 can mete out them to have iron deficiency. Guess what. My mom started giving it to me when I was 2 months and I do enjoy low iron. I mean she's close to one at this point so I'm not sure if it will really make a huge difference but I just considered necessary to give you the info I had.
My doctor is Hindu- you know what they are close to about cows!
She said it was okay to introduce it before the age of one as long as here is no history of allergies or intolerances to lactose on either side of the family.
I was severely lactose intolerant until the age of five, and own just found out that my migraines are triggered by casein, so my son isn't getting cows milk for quite a while yet! Plus I presently have to forgo milk in my hot beverages.
Answers:    My peds said it was ok. We've have a difficult time breastfeeding, Sophie's just not into it. He said I could start to introduce it at 8 months. At her 9 month checkup he said I could give her up to 8 oz a day as a supplement. He said at this age, she most probable won't take formula.

I will continue nursing until 1 year of age as well. She loves milk!
Get a second opinion! I've other heard not until they are one. Regardless you are the mother you do what your instincts tell you to do. My pedi tells me stuff adjectives the time but I don't listen to her half the time he is my child and I will do what I think is best. My son is 9months and has never have an ear ache, cold or even a runny nose.guess I'm doing something right..no thanks to his pedi!
No, I have read that feeding your baby cows milk lower than 12 mos of age increases the risk for milk allergies and lactose intolerance. Better to be safe and stick either with formula or breast milk until 12 mos!
my babys pediatrician told me to start introducing it to her at 10months. my baby drinks 6oz of formula so he told me to do 2oz of formula and the rest whole milk. later just slowly take away the formula
I have hear of it, however I have never done it. My children were breastfed until 1 year.
I have heard of it, it is pretty common and single done with the doctor's permission/at their discretion. It is not uncommon for them to recommend that at all. If your doc give the OK, it's OK.
Yes. Because Colten refuse his formula at 10 months, would not take it. If I would hand him a bottle he would throw it and fit.

Took him to the Pediatrician and said sometimes they ween off the formula precipitate. Colten is on cow's milk and doing ok with it.
I have never hear of it. I think it depends on the child and the situation. Some babies are very allergic. I think its best to consult your pediatrician a moment ago to be sure...
I was told they can own cows milk in cooking and things but not as a drink on its own before 12mths old, whats the rush, im sure it wont do any spoil to wait even if its just to make you discern better!
Yes my daughters pediatrician said that at 11 months you may originate mixing cows milk with formula or breast milk and gradually wean them on to straight cows milk.
i have not heard milk recommended beforehand one. Its the lactose in milk that is difficult to digest, therefor yogurt and cheese made from cows milk are safe to tender as young as 6-9 months.
Human milk is the best thing for Human babies under 2. Goat's milk have a different protein structure than Cow's milk that is more easily digested by human babies. I know they sell goats milk at Trader Joes.
this is from Kellymom.com just about cheese and yogurt.

"Some experts consider yogurt and cheese to be okay for most babies after 6 months. Others prefer waiting until 9-12 months. Of course, if baby has a cow's milk allergy or there is a strong history of allergy to cow's milk surrounded by the family, yogurt, cheese and all other foods made with cow's milk should be avoided until 12 months or subsequent. The main difference between yogurt and milk is that the lactose in yogurt has be converted into lactic acid. Cheese differs from milk in two ways: the whey proteins are drained off contained by the cheese-making process (so only casein proteins remain), and the curdling enzymes break down the casein proteins into smaller protein molecules. For babies and toddlers, try to find the whole milk yogurt (not low or no fat), and avoid the yogurt with artificial sweeteners lots of sugary fruits."
i was told not to until after a year*
