A few question almost my 8 month frail?
I have a few questions about formula and feed my 8month old.
My first question is:
1) How did you LO take to stage 3 foods?
*My LO gag on it, but she loves eating the "star puffs".
2). Did anyone use Similac or any other brands "Go & Grow" formula, the one from 9mos--24mos? What's your take on the "older" formula?
*I'm just wondering more or less it, because she will soon be 9mos and this formula is a little cheaper.
3). For the mothers (or fathers) who children were on soy based formula, did you enjoy a problem when they started whole milk?
4) Corn products: I was told (by a friend) that my LO didn't need any food near corn until a year of age b/c of food allergies. Is this true?
5) And last but not least.what's the toughest/easiest part of mortal a mother (or father)?
* Toughest: leaving her everyday to go to work
*Easiest: loving her
My lil one is 8 months TODAY YAY! I will try to answer the best i can
1. My son gag on stage 3 and many other things but get this he ate small pieces of bologna great. I think respectively kid is different and maybe our LO's are not ready for them all. They might perfer the soft no chunk dinner. LOL
2. I never know there was formula for 9 mnths and older I will hold to look. I would say talk t your childs doctor cause he know her health best to answer that.
But I am probably gonna check them out next and see the nutrition difference and possible switch my son
3 My son was on placid ease for gas which we thought might be a sensitivity to dairy. I have been giving my son dairy presently for a month and he is healthy and great, I use it to add in to his formula to correct the taste so he will eat (i have a fussy eater) he loves pudding and rime cream too LOL
4 I have rarely heard of anyone allergic to corn (peanuts yeah corn never) Someone said this to me the other afternoon when some one asked if my son can have a dorito chip and I said no cause the sharp edges and someone said that about corn allergies.
5 toughest is going through this teething, he have been getting ear infections and the teeth are SOOOO slow.
Easiest spending time with him
1: my son LOVED stage 3...Also, loves all ther gerber stuff--puffs, crunchies, yogurt melt etc.
2: Nope, my doc said it wasn't necessary, just switch to whole milke when they are 1
3: Sorry, used dairy base...
4: I have never heard of that. A lot of baby food have corn in it...(the meals)
5: Completely agree with you. Toughest: Leaving him Easiest: Loving him!! =)
1. My daughter gagged on stage 3 foods too, I tried them a few times around 8 months and quit b/c she worried the life out of me. I would give her finger foods like puffs which she did great on, but it's similar to the puree with chunks in it threw her off. I only just started again giving her stage 3. She is now 10 months and no longer gags. Just give finger foods so he can practice afterwards when he's had lots of practice chewing tray again.
2. I haven't done the go and grow yet. I stock piled a bunch of regular formula. I haven't run out yet. By the time I run out it will be time to start whole milk. I don't think I'm even going to mess next to slowly getting her used to a different formula and then later have to catch her used to whole milk.
3. We don't use soy formula. I would assume soy formula was used b/c of a lactose intollerence or milk allergy in that crust I would hold off on going to whole milk.
4. I have not hear anything about waiting a year for corn. Any food can have a food allergy reaction within are just some that are more likely than others like nuts. I own not heard it about corn. I have stage 2 food at home specifically sweet potatoes and corn.
5. Easiest thing is loving and playing with her. hardest things is doing it on your own. I'm married and husband is around most of the time but he just moved out on a 2 week business trip. It's hard working full time myself, taking care of house, dogs and baby alone. I love it, it's basically tough :)
i used isomil then similac for my older kids and they did well on both. my youngest, 8mth old-fashioned is now on wyeth nursoy because he was allergic to isomil as well.
the elder kids didn't have any problems switching from soy to regular cow based follow-up milk at 5mths, and 7mths. this youngest babe however still spit up on cow's formula when i tried switching him a few weeks ago. so i'll try the switch again later.
i prepare adjectives meals myself so not much problems with stages... and nobody has any allergic reaction to anything so far...
it's tough watching them grow up so fast so soon and then parting... but afterwards watching them grow is the most beautiful thing..
Answers: My daughter is 8 months old...
1. She doesnt gag on the stage 3 foods, but boy does she brand some funny faces, lol. I just started her on them... so they are new to her. She LOVES the star puffs. If I bear them out and she is in the middle of playing she will stop everything crawl over to me and just sit in front of me... she will not make tracks my side until I put them away, lol.
2. I use similac, but since my daughter is only 8 months I havent made a transition, and honestly I havent even noticed the grow to grow formula... hmm, I'll have to ask the doctor nearly that one.
3. Didnt use soy based.
4. My daughter eats corn in her meal all the time... I have never heard almost the allergy thing...
5. Toughest part: leaving her... Easiest slice: Loving everything about her :-) Your gonna make me cry... She's 8 months and I still cant stand to be away from her, I tear up almost everytime. Source(s): Mom to 8 month older little girl & 18 weeks pregnant with a little boy! :-)
1) all my kids took very well to every stage of food. It is conventional to gag on new foods I think its the texture not the taste.
2) I used similac but I don't retract there being an older formula...but if its cheaper I voice go for it!!
3).sorry never used soy based formula
4) I don't believe the corn thing to be true..I hold heard that with peanuts/peanut butter and shellfish/shrimp because of high allergies to these foods. I hold heard you are to introduce new foods 1 at a time so that if there is an allergy you will know what the allergy is to.
5) toughest: hoping you hold raised them right when its time to let them go it alone
easiest: loving them!!
1)I didn't use Gerber or any food like that . i fairly made it my self.
2) all i used was regular Simac. but what i did do is once in a while i would supply him a little whole milk so he could get used to it(just a couple of teaspoons) until he be about 10-11 mo and then i began increasing the amount. i have no trouble switching like this.
3)did not use
4) never heard
5)that had to be the toughest wen you progress back to work i nearly cried every time some one asked me about my son because i missed him. but i knew he be in good hands so that comforted me.
the easiest is making him beaming.
he loved stage 3 foods your lo may take for a moment bit to get used to
similac soy based
did not use anything but that til i put him on milk
no problems his dr told me i could have started him on it at 10 mos. but i be scared to
my son did not have any problems with that stuff deem about it what kind of gerber puffs are you giving her i also gave him corn near sweet potatoes in it in the baby food
toughest departing my son while i go to work in the morning
loving him even if he is the most stubborn kid i have ever see in my life
