so I know that it stands for baby led weaning, but what kinds of food do you dispense your child? I mean you don't just give them approaching a chunk of banana at 6 months do you?

I started with gerber puffs, they melt in your mouth, and i guess banana, very ripe, still yellow though and diced into tiny pieces. We also tried watermelon, she loves that. and gerber also has diced apples and carrot, i got those and still cut them in half, lately so you get an idea of the size i tried and it was upright. Belle already had 4 teeth by then though
Answers: Pretty much. Elyse's first was sweet potatoes cut into fry/chip shape and then broccoli spears. You could do banana but it is a bit slippery for them at that age to grasp onto.
No, no teeth necessary. We did BLW at 6.5 month and E didn't hold her first tooth for months after that.
