Breast/Formula Question?
Why do some of us breastfeeding mothers feel the need to be so judgmental towards those that choose to formula feed? I believe we can all agree that breast milk is the best, but formula is a *very* close second. Formula feeding mothers are not poisoning or depriving their babies. Formula fed babies grow up simply as healthy as breastfed ones. What gives? Why the need for such raucous judgment. Every mother has the right to make anything decision is best for her and her child.
It's hard enough self a mother, we're always facing judgment. Why make it worse?
so whats the question??
are people judgemental? Yes,Does a large portion want to prove they are doing the Best? yes
the reality is weather breast or fourmula, its all food,
and if my grandmother, can raise 4 children on Carnation caned milk
consequently i think the forumula feeders are doing WAY better,
is breast best, yes, is fourmula garbage, HECK NO, is it a VERY close second yes it is.
my son has be fed both breast and formula, and at one point was 50/50 ratio now that im a stay at home mom hes final to breast.
anyone who calls formula garbage is ignorant. support general public who have problems breast feeding, HELP thoses that cant by supporting them, not trashing them down by saying within feeding there children garbage,
its adjectives food. just be thankful there humanitarian parents who arnt starving there childrent leaving them to cry within hunger with a days old diaper while there passed out from drinking, drugs, or jjust dont perfectionism...
Although I agree there should be sharing without the judgemental attitude, saying formula is a *very* close second to breastmilk that does not poison or deprive babies is not altogether true. The singular reason they are on the market is because the manufacturers salary big bucks into the FDA. Formula fed babies are rarely as social as bf ones, are larger because they are digesting proteins never intended for human infants to consume, and research shows that they grow up to have a superior incidence of many fatal diseases. Sharing that is immensely important. Shouldn't parents know if they are doing something that has the potential to harm a newborn in the longrun? It's really no different than anti-spanking moms being judgemental to those who do spank in love. The anti-spanker feel she's giving a valid warning. In this case there is actual experimental research about the fact that formula can lead to incurable things in a significant part of the population. That's also worth sharing - but without mortal judgemental, I agree.
I don't know why some women just shift crazy over this topic. Bottom line is, it's a mother's decision and what ever she chooses to do should not be up for approval of other moms she probably doesn't even know and probably doesn't even care what they surmise.
Some women are just judgmental to a fault. Gets on my nerves.
I know I don't judge (see profile). Some women can't for one reason or another and it isn't like it is a big accord. My MIL fed my husband powdered carnation milk in his bottle(in the 60's)because she had lactation "issues" and he have 2 college degrees and is fine. Formula is as close to the breast as it gets. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infant_form… Source(s): Here is an interesting bit of info. Similac=similar to lactation.
I don't judge because I don't give a crap what other people do as long as they aren't neglect or abusing their children then it's none of my business. Source(s): Landon and Ellie's Mommy.
Growing Mama: My son is 1 year old and is 21lbs. He's singular in the 50th percentile for his age group. Sure some formula fed babies are going to be bigger, but not all of them will be. My sister, brother and I be all formula fed and my sister is underweight, my brother is average, and I'm 5 to 10 pounds overweight. None of us have any mortal illnesses.
Breast is beast, we know that. We just don't want it shoved down our throats every 2 seconds. Source(s): Me
Breast milk definately isn't close to formula...it's more valuable than gold ingots in my opinion. But formula isn't bad any. My baby is tongue tied and he would absolutely not latch on to my breast. I was adjectives worried about it at the time and spoke to my doctor about it. Yeah, formula doesn't have adjectives of the antibodies in it, but that just means you have need of to be extra careful when it comes to keeping your baby from getting sick. I was formula feed as a child and so was my older brother...both of us are actually reasonably small. My two younger brothers on the other hand were breastfed and they are bigger guys. So formula has nought to do with whether your baby is bigger or not...and it doesn't mean your child is going to bring some sort of fatal disease..that's just ridiculous. It all depends on genes.
I will never construe why a breastfeeding question starts fights...why cant people purely understand.that some women decide to breastfeed and some formula.at this time i am having to do both...I will be breastfeeding exclusively.at the time my infant was born i was breastfeeding exclusive But, soon after i had to start formula supplements because my tot was losing to much weight..due to her bilirubin (jaundice) count was elevated when she was born
Answers: It have been my experience that the Tit Terrorists have a common issue. They get the impression insecure about some aspect of their mothering and choose to make themselves feel better by belittling others, regularly by shouting "Breast is best!"
Well, duh.
I had to stop breastfeeding my son before I wanted to because he be allergic to my breastmilk. And before the Tit Terrorists get all Gestapo on me, that diagnois come from a pediatric gastroenterologist after endless blood tests, a dairy and soy-free diet for me and a baby next to bloody diarrhea. One day of formula and he never had a problem again.
On the other hand, I breastfed my daughter exclusively until she be almost one.
The breastmilk vs formula battle has less to do beside what's better and more to do with feeling control over a life that really doesn't permit us control much.
If your 9 year mature needs to wear a belt with her slim jeans, make sure you hold a cover on your drain in your bathtub. Sounds like she's hungry. This message is brought to you by the courtesy of the Houston Fire Department.
Well said sista! Why does it thing what way you feed your child as long as your child is being feed and getting the proper amount of nutrients that is needed? Every mother has the right to choose and the fact that some empire are so harsh shows what a close-minded world that we STILL live in.
Breastfed and Formula Fed Babies Both go to Harvard.
formula isn't even a close second. i'm not calling it poison but it certainly isn't a close second. formula doesn't transmute composition, help prevent cancer, have antibodies and it's not sterile. not close at all. this interview has been asked far too may times to even care anymore
*** and for the transcription, less than 3% of the world's women truly can not breastfeed. most women just say they can't because tehy run into trouble. it would be hard to meet someone who ACTUALLY couldn't breastfeed. i once met a girl who said " i couldn't breastfeed, my daughter could, but i couldn't do it" meaning she give up. that's a lot different. but saying formula is a CLOSE second is ignorant within itself. it's a second to breastmilk but not close by all means
i personally don't thought as long as they are being fed right but i don't like when relatives pass around false information
BTW i think melamine in poison it it's contained by baby formula
FYI- YES formual is the US contain a certain amount of melamine that is "regulated. tehre is merely a certain amount in teh US formula

I think your question in actual fact makes it worse, not better. All we can do is support those who want to breastfeed and try to correct myths when we see them. That's all I do. And maybe brag roughly speaking how easy and convenient breastfeeding is, but that's just because I'm lazy.
You're not an iota better by calling it "a *very* close second". you're putting down every formula feeding mom out there too. Get over yourself already! By even making this post you are judging every formula feed mother out there. Please leave your beliefs to yourself...it is none of your business if my son was formula feed and he was.
