What's the going rate for babysitting?
I've been asked if I would be willing to babysit for a lady that I know. I told her I would love to. My quiz is how much should I charge her? It would only be for a couple hours at a time, not a full day. I was wondering what I should charge per hour?
I used to sit for $5/hour/kid, minimum $20 per evening.
I recently moved to a new city, and used a service to find a sitter. I paid this semi-professional $25/hour, but that be a last-minute thing.
in the order of 6-8 dollars an hour depending on how much you have to do and the age of the child. If she is older and pretty independent, then lower, if its a newborn and requires frequent feedings, entertainment, and diaper change, then 8 dollars an hour. Plus, after 11:00pm it should go up to about 10 or 12 dollars an hour.
If you dont want to charge her too much, but you inevitability something in return (and you have a child - judging from your picture..) later maybe offer to babysit hour for hour in return. Just hang on to track of how many hours you babysit for her, and then thats how many hours she owes you within babysitting for your child.
Good luck

My daughter has a full time sitter, a SAHM. However, we also have a backup sitter we use when needed. She used to work at a local daycare, and she charges $5 an hour, afterwards caps it at 5 hrs.
Answers: Just depends.
How oodles hours exactly? And what time during the day? Do you have to feed him/her?
Depends on how many kids.
My babysitter starts at $7/hour and later an extra dollar per hour per every child after the first, I think it's pretty reasonable, but I haven't shopped around.
i know it my seem like profoundly but 15 $'s an hour i do it and i have a lot of Business
Well you dont want to charge too much to begin with, because that might seem unkind, but I mean you NEED to make money, so maybe 6 or 7 an hour??
It depends greatly on the child.
If they are relatively easy to fastidiousness for - then maybe $4-5 an hour.
IF they are an unholy terror, after double it.
I pay my babysitter 30 bucks a day, but she babysits 8 hours for 5 days...maybe you should charge her 15 dlls a daylight
conceivably 5 or 4? but thats not that much i charge 5 or 6
i paid around 8 bucks an hour
