What is the best way to start weaning my 9-month-old off a bottle and onto a sippy cup? I'm not trying to completely take her bottle away as of nonetheless, but I am really wanting her to get used to the cup idea.
Answers: I would give my daughter a sippy cup next to a little of her formula in it after she had a bottle. She mostly played next to it at first but she started getting used to it and when she was a little closer to a year old we started substituting her lunch bottle beside a sippy cup. Let her drink as much out of it as she wants and then put the rest in the bottle. If you argument with her to take it then she won't want to use it.
Hand her the sippy cup and sustain her use it. You may actually have to put it to her mouth and tip it up for her to get the conception. She'll catch on pretty quick then you can start using the sippy cup more and more.
