its a repeat performance tonight so i just gave him babe-in-arms rice as well as his bottle. i expect him up by 10 :(
i dont know what else to do to get him to sleep. is there any entry else i can do xxx
thanks :)
It sounds like a growth spurt to me. Hang in there and it should leave behind within a few days to a week.
My son is doing this exact thing. Except he is doing at 3 months & 3 weeks.
Everyone is telling me its a growth spurt, and one that usually lasts from 1-2 days to more or less a week.
Can you get him to take more milk at each nurture? Perhaps try increasing the amount by half an ounce per day. My son is 16 weeks (nearly 4 months) and he has the following routine which I hold persisted with:
7am - 7 oz milk
9am - sleep, 30-45 mins
11 am - 8 oz milk
12:00pm - sleep (pref in cot) or somewhere we may be for 2-2 & half hrs!
2:30pm - 8oz milk
4:30 - sleep, 15-30 mins
6:15pm - 8oz milk
7:00pm - sleep in cot
11pm - 7oz milk
This is what works for us. Not saying it will suit you but surely anything is worth a try, sounds resembling you are having a hard time of it :-(
Good luck & I hope you get a break soon x
Do you give him a bath every darkness before bedtime or let him fall asleep downstairs? You call for to have a strong bedtime routine even if you demand feed.so clutch him up for a bath at about 7.00pm.bath him and afterwards dress him...give him a feed in his bedroom beside a vary dim light.no playing or chatting.just nurture him and kiss him and put him in his cot.obviously with a little one monitor nearby...then go downstairs.that ability that any feeds after this also happen in the dim pale in his room with no chatting..he will at least be contained by bed..it will keep any feeds that happen after this to a minimum...if he is feed every hour how much is he drinking? If it is only an ounce or so then try to encourage him to drink more at his 7.00 nurture..as for the solids he is really too young for fruit and veg.he doesn;t need them yet.toddler rice or porrige isn;t so bad but you're messing with his development giving him fruit and veg this rash.
Answers: Hi there, this is going to be the most disappointing answer but I'm afraid this is just sometimes what babies do. It might be a growth spurt, it might be teething. The sleeping *will* come if you consent to it evolve and just keep doing what you're doing. It sounds like you enjoy a good bedtime routine going so that's great. The problem with babies is that they get you into a false sense of collateral then throw you off suddenly! You'll probably find that he'll go final to his previous routine suddenly and you'll wonder what this week was all about. He'll probably drop his midnight nurture first eventually before dropping the 4am one. Sometimes just for the sake of some shuteye we brought our son into bed with us. The comfort of have us both there seemed to make him drop past its sell-by date sometimes. Hope he snaps out of it soon!
are you sure he's hungry? possibly he's teething and this is wakening him. he does seem to be eating quite plentifully now especially you have him on solids.
does he take a dummy/ soother?
possibly he is just waking up now and because you are offering him milk he is taking it as he get comfort from it.
have you tried checking his gums for bumps or beginnings of teeth?
or maybe because he is on solids he is thirsty? i would try him with a bit of sea too. Source(s): mum of 1 and 1 on the way
