Question more or less stage 2 newborn food?

My son is 5 1/2 months old. His doctor told me to start him on jar food when he was 4 months. He has have all of the fruits and veggies and does great with them. He now eat a jar of veggies and a jar of fruit at each sitting (once a day). When can I start him on stage 2? I honestly think he will do great with it.. but I don't wanna start him channel too early. Any advice? Thanks so much!
Answers:    Since he began stage 1 at 4 months - I chew over he's ready for stage 2. The containers are much bigger & he'll probably be content with one :) Good luck!
