Does your babe can read really work?

I want to order it for my 2 kids but dont wanna spend that much if it doesn't work
No, I hold a family member who ordered that and it is a complete scam. It doesn't work at all.
I don't know nor do I care. Kids need to be kids and develop next to play, being read to etc., not forced into learning to this extent at such an early stage. If a child is bright and teach himself or herself to read before school age that's great, but too many children are man forced into giving up the normal learning opportunities of rash childhood and end up either burned out or suffering from emotional problems.
Answers:    NO! They're not learning how the letters/words SOUND, they're just memorizing the words as an depiction.

SO ridiculous. Let your babies be babies. Worry about them reading when they're 5.
As a mom of a tot, and school psychologist, here's my opinion:

I've qualified a few kids to read in my day... And have deal with kids with learning problems. Some of the latter be what we call "sight readers," explanation that they read whole words at a very young age, lacking sounding the words out first. Here's the problem: when kids ONLY learn to read by memorizing whole words, or sight words, they are using the shapes of the words to swot up what the word is... They are NOT, however, learning letter names and sounds, how to blend sounds, etc. So, they may see "C-H-A-I-R" and say-so, "Chair!" - but, when shown "C-H" cannot produce the "cha" sound.

Why does this matter? Around third grade, and even faster at times, words become longer and little readers often need to nouns them out to read them correctly. That is the way it SHOULD happen... Those that only verbs read run into issues here. They will often say a word that closely resembles the actual word (a phenomenon called "birth guessing"). So, if they know "chair" and are presented with "chariot", they will still say "Chair" - and may get frustrated when they are wrong.

My suggestion - if you buy the program, great. But the first steps to teaching your tot to read are to teach the alphabet, how to distinguish letter name from letter sounds, then to blend sounds. This is why "hooked on phonics" is so popular - it teaches kids to read by breaking words down... a skill that can be expanded to up to date words.

Hope that helped!!
I've hear that it's just a big scam and doesn't give kids any advantage once they are arts school aged.
Not fairly sure if it works for sure or not - but my baby hates the movie's. They are ridiculously BORING! Mickey Mouse ClubHouse is just as effectual! They even teach numbers and problem solving etc.! Good luck and don't waste the money!
First rotten, a lot of the program is on DVD and TV is the last thing you want to get hold of a child accustomed to. Secondly, it comes with a lot of flash cards but if you are good next to computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Power Point you can make and print flash cards for your baby, and make power point flash card slideshows. That is what I am doing for my 3 month ancient. She absolutely loves the slideshows, and the flash cards are fun because she gets to interact. Even though I know she is not reading them now, it is helping near her hand eye coordination when she reaches for them, so she is still learning.

Also try www.brillbaby.com. They hold sample slideshows and flash cards you can print out. Source(s): http://www.brillbaby.com/
I would run a search engine on reviews...I enjoy and everythingI found says it works, but it is not teaching the child to read.it is teaching them to memorize the word
No, it's a waste of money. You can't force a child to read before they are ready and capable of reading, and you would bring back the same results just sitting and reading to your child.
I've heard that they will learn to read words, but they don't really learn how to "read".
I got it for my daughters when they turned 14 months. they are now 18 months and can recongnize words but cannot say aloud them yet. If they see the flashcards that say like belly they will point to that obect. When i read out hands up they will raise their arms in the atmosphere. So i would say it is working for my girls and they started it a little late!
I dont presume it works. It looks like the kids are just memorizing to me.
