Is it possible that my child have whooping cough?

Even if it is a simple cold take him to the doc and do it soon. Because it could be RSV or whooping cough and the sooner they figure it out, the sooner treatment get started and then hopefully you will be able to take him home. Some parents don't certify RSV or whooping cough and then there babies are hospitalized and some never come home. Better safe than sorry. Call your pediatrician and bully yourself an appt - tomorrow if you can. If they cannot see to until something ridiculous resembling next week just show up at the pediatricians. I've had to do that until that time because they didn't believe how sick my baby was until they saw and heard her next they immediately ambulanced her to the children's hospital.
Bottom line if you don't like it, it make you uncomfortable and it concerns your babe's health - make a stink and hold doing so until someone pays attention; it can save a baby's life, it saved my baby's energy. I didn't know her lungs were filling with fluid, she would drowned contained by her own fluids if I hadn't been stubborn and taken her to see the pediatrician without an appt.

I took him to the doctor and was told it be probably post nasal drip that was causing him to cough. I say basically take him to his pediatrician to find out for sure. In all likelihood, it's in recent times a cold or an allergy, but if you're like me, you won't feel better unless you actually hold your child examined by a doctor.

I doubt it. It's likely a cold, RSV (croup) is even possible but if your infant have had a whopping cough attack you would have gone to the hospital.
Generally, pertussis infections aren't that bad but the attacks are definitely horrific to watch. It would have scared you to the ER.
