At what age did you start feed Stage 1 foods?

I am asking because I have a 4 month old (just turned 4 months) and I have be trying to give him cereal and he is not that into it (flavor wise)
I can tell because he eats it correctly (wraps mouth around spoon, moves food from front to spinal column of his mouth) But after a couple of bites he gets cranky doesn't want it and fusses til he gets his bottle, and that's after feeding him bottle first. I know he in place for food because he shows all the signs, eats an abundance of formula have doubled his birth weight and now wakes at hours of darkness again to feed so I know he needs something more. Well today I tried stage 1 peaches and he LOVED it literally couldn't get surrounded by his mouth fast enough and ate the whole container and next a 4 oz bottle. So my question is when did you start feeding your baby stage 1 foods?
My kids are in their 20s. We didn't have "stages" of foods, but I give the impression of being to recall that my pediatrician had me start them on rice cereal at about 4 months, and later introduce baby food applesauce and, a few days later, bananas. You need to hold some time between introducing new foods in case there's an allergy--this process, you know exactly what caused it.
I think these days they narrate you to wait longer to start with solid food, but, frankly, I think that's rubbish. Look at how much your son enjoyed the peaches. Clearly, he's ready.
My son was almost 5 months when he started Stage 1. He did not like cereal at all, so we a short time ago moved on to veggies. Just work some vegetables in there before letting him try to oodles different types of fruit. You don't want him to dislike the veggies because they aren't as sweet as the fruit.

One way I did get my son to eat cereal is by mixing it beside some of the stage 1 fruits and a little water. You may want to try that.
Answers:    We started our twins on cereal freshly shy of 6 months and the Stage 1 (as well as a bunch of homemade purees) at 6 months old.

Just be careful to stick to one and the same fruit or veggie for a few days before introducing another one. This is the best way to make sure that at hand is not an allergic reaction. You might also want to try veggies. Our pediatrician recommended starting with veggies because some kids love the sweetness of the fruit and then won't devour the veggies.
well my son have had oatmeal in his bottle since about 3 months because of reflux. i started him at 4 months on the stage 1 jarred foods. he have the oatmeal on a spoon at 3 1/2 months and was doing great. it also helped his reflux when he started the real food.
for my son i went to stage one after he be taking rice ceral for about 2 weeks, he did really well (so about 4 and a partly months)... for my twins i tried starting them on cereal at 4 months but they were not 'into' it at their 6 month appointment their DR said i could go ahead and mix stage 1 into it
Cereals at 3 months and Stage 1 at 4 months. I started on veggies, the same one for 3 days and try another. I started fruits after veggies, I don't remember why but that how I did it.
My daughter was 4 months old when we started stage 1 foods. She did not like the rice cereal even next to the fruit mixed with it, so we now feed her lately the baby food and she loves it. she is now 5 months old and eat all the stage 1 fruits, i am waiting to start vegies as she didnt do so well with peas...Start beside one fruit and introduce a new one after 2-3 days. this is so that if she has an allergic reaction to it you know which one it be...i would also either stagger his bottle/fruit or give him a bottle before the fruit because his formula intake should not lessening at this point and most of his nutrients are still coming from the formula! Good luck!!
I am starting my new toddler when she turns 6 months
5 months is really the earliest you should start your baby on baby food. 4 months is okay for cereal but not fruits and veggies. We skipped 1st foods because they were so messy and lately waited til our kids were 6 months to start on 2nd foods.
I make my own "stage 1" baby foods. And have be for a little over 3 weeks. There's nothing magical about cereal. You can start on fruits and veggies and introduce grain later. You really don't have to go within any order either as many will recount you. As long as you stick with stage one foods and wait 4-7 days to introduce new foods you should be fine! My son is not relatively 5 months and eats steamed pears and fresh avocado, I'm going to start him on homemade brown rice cereal this weekend than steamed green beans and baked apples.
5 and 1/2 months.
I called Gerber and they told me what you should do is start beside Rice Cereal and do it for 5 days. After 5 days if they haven't had any allergic reactions and take it very well then you give them Oatmeal and again for 5 days. She told me to do Barley after that but it's really hard to find. She told me that after that you could start the veggies and fruits but I spoke to the female at my local WIC office and she said that I should wait a month probably before starting veggies and fruits. She also told me that once you start them that you should other start with the veggies because if you start with fruits then probability are they wont like the veggies. She also said that once you start the veggies you shouldn't start with greens, you should do squash or carrots first.
I did adjectives of that but before I found out that I should wait I did feed my daughter peas and she LOVED them. The WIC woman said it's okay but really I should wait. So I'm goign to wait until my daughter is 5 months old.

I hope I help!
I started both of my girls on stage 1 foods at 4 1/2 months.

Try mixing of late a little bit of stage 1 fruits in with the rice cereal. My toddler didn't want any part of it until I did that.
